Yes, we skipped dinner and hurried ourselves to the Toji temple instead before it closes at 9.30pm. We have ourselves to blame for sleeping soundly like hogs till 7pm.
We were totally freezing our arses on the last day of Sakura event held at this famous temple. The night view is definitely worth it and we managed to get a number of fantastic shots.
On our way back, we saw this restaurant which is still opened. Guess we won’t be going empty stomach for long.
It looks like it serves chicken as their specialty. We were greeted by friendly young staffs which at first, thought we were Koreans. Must be my long hair. ;)
We ordered based on their recommendations (pictures). The chicken broth and vegetables were really fantastic. Couldn’t ask for more while you are freezing and hungry earlier.
The grilled salt and black pepper chicken offals tasted really good. Normally we won’t dare to eat this but well, since we have ordered(We thought we were ordering meat based on the pictures.) and we don’t wanna waste food. Might as well just DO IT.
BEST BEST BEST = Fried Chicken. The mayo sauce and the chicken mixed really well. At 660 yen, this is a steal. Never had we ever get fried chicken that tasted so damn good. I won’t describe more. That’s how good it is. We should have just ordered plates of this and downed them with beers.
As for the rest, it’s ok, just so-so. This place is bookmarked and I am starting to miss their...
Read moreMenu seems affordable, but when we went to pay it was at least 600 yen higher. We brought over the menu we were given to clarify what we ordered (as the receipt was understandably in japanese). The server went and rifled through some other menus and showed us an incredible small print of a 300 yen/person service charge in that menu. This was nowhere in our menu, as we stared at it for 30 minutes before our first order was brought (for myself) and another 20 minutes for my friend. We ended up sharing our meals as hers was taking so long and neither of us wanted to wait. It also took forever to get the server to come to offer us menus (about 10 minutes after we sat) despite us hitting the call button repeatedly during that time. Food was good but small portions, ended up at 7/11 after to top up. Not...
Read moreMy friends and I loved all the dishes we ordered. The karaage, grilled chicken, sukiyaki and even the spicy cucumber were the most memorable ones. The staff is very accommodating and is able to communicate in English somehow. The prices are also reasonable and affordable.
The only weird one for us is the appetizer that came along with the broth. It didn't taste like anything. Apart from that. We...
