It's a shame I didn't take a picture of the room. There is a Lawson convenience store nearby, Yodobashi Camera about 5 minutes away, and Don Quijote about 7 minutes away (the least crowded place I've been to, so shopping is comfortable). It takes about 7 minutes on foot to Kyoto Station. Other large shopping malls are within a 15-minute walk. It's nice to be able to see Kyoto Tower day and night.(As of room 306, it is not visible from inside the room, but its presence is noticeable as soon as you step outside the hotel)Please store your luggage in advance before check-in (around 1pm) and leave it in the room when you return after check-in time (very good)There was a female staff member who could speak Korean, so it was convenient to store luggage or make inquiries. You can take as many amenities as you need from the lobby on the first floor.(Razor, coffee, tea bag, cleansing oil, toner, toothpaste toothbrush, comb, etc.)I think accommodation tax is included in the price. There was no additional payment.Room amenities (I write down what I remember)1. Table and 2 chairs2. Table mirror3. Alarm clock4. TV5. Tooth brushing cup6. Towel (consists of face towel & bath towel)7. Disposable slippers8. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand & face wash9. Hair dryer (low output)10. Multiple outlets, 2 USB charging ports11. Chair where you can put your bag12. 2 hangers per person13. Electric pot14. Safe15. Mini refrigeratordisadvantage :- For a Japanese accommodation, the room is large and has two singles, which is nice, but heating the room with a heater is a hassle.- There is one room card key. But here, electricity comes into the room even without a card being inserted.- Before staying here, I felt like it was a disadvantage because it didn't have the items I had at other accommodations (deodorant or spoon).Nevertheless, I was satisfied with the size of the room, which had a table and chairs and two single beds!Conveniently located near Kyoto Station and department stores, which are home to a variety of reasonably priced restaurants! It is slightly far from the station, so there is almost no noise at night, so you...
Read moreI booked this hotel after seeing some of the comments that rooms have been remodeled. But what I get was far from expectations. Found water marks and an old fashioned TV without any English instruction and saw all the out dated furniture in the room. The entrance was smaller than normal, I can’t even get in with my computer backpack. The width of the entrance is about the size of a carry-on luggage to be precise😅. Looks like this is the only odd size room door on the eighth floor. I was wondering if it was because I booked my room through Expedia and prepaid already and that’s why I am not getting the remodeled room? The picture shown on Expedia was way different than what I am getting, Expedia may need to update their pictures to avoid people from complaining them about false advertising or perhaps we, the Expedia customers, may have been rip-off by the hotel. I was also a returning customer who likes the location, and was hoping to see the remodeled rooms as posted by other people and Expedia, unfortunately I am still getting a room that gave me bad experience more than 10 years ago. By the way, I can feel the springs from the box-spring bed while lying on it and writing this review. I will not take another chance or recommend it to any of my...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is quite good, only take your around 5mins to get here from the Kyoto station. Easy to find and easy to access.
There are several bus line located near the hotel which can take u to different temple, it won’t require you lots of walk to get the those bus stop.
One of the things to aware is that their checkin time is 5pm for short stay guest. I only lived for 2 days and its count as a short stay. Despite relative late checkin time, u can still store ur luggage here same as in other hotel. Tax fee is required additional to ur room fee during checkin with price 400yen per night.
The most worst experience I had is the wifi. The WiFi signal in our room is extremely poor (my room located at 8/f corner room). Altho I didn’t travel a lot in the world, this is the worst wifi I had among 50+ hotels I had stay. I can’t even load my Google map fluently with the hotel wifi. I will recommend u to use ur own data to have a smooth internet experience(if u hv a lot data which I am not…)
Without the wifi issue, the hotel is basically not that bad. The staff are not rude, the breakfast is quite ok, everything is basically fine. The incredibly slow-speed internet really...
