Wonderful food, wide selection, great staff, English menu available both in print and via the tablet used for ordering(other languages supported as well). Ended up coming multiple nights because the wide selection pleased different people in our group. If you're not familiar with this type of establishment, think of it as Japanese tapas. Small orders of tasty things. Easy to experiment, easy to add more if you like something, and wide variety that works well regardless of group composition.
There is a door charge appetizer, but that too was great. As a foreigner I can't say enough positive things about our experiences at this restaurant.
Specifically we loved the deep fried scallops, the chicken and green onion yakatori with sause(their translations aren't perfect), the grilled beef short rib, and the obligatory door charge salad, but almost everything was good. I would not however recommend the chicken skin or cartridge... but it says something that we had to get that adventurous to...
Read moremy fiance and I were looking for places to eat on the way back to our hotel after arriving in Kyoto and stumbled upon this gem of a place. The staff were so nice and talkative and made us feel right at home. The service was pretty quick for what we had ordered (mostly yakitori chicken) and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
You first get seated and then asked for your drink order. The rest you do through a tablet on the table which has an English setting and away to the kitchen it goes. There is also an order confirmation screen that shows you everything that you’ve ordered and the total. You then take the little number card on the wall to the front of the restaurant to pay
We genuinely really enjoyed our time here. The vibes were really good and it was so nice to hear the locals laughing and having a good time. The food and drink selection was huge and there is something for everyone here. I would 100% recommend and we’ll be definitely...
Read moreAmazing place. Its nearby a shopping center and many hotels, but is cheaper than most of the nearby restaurants. Delicious chicken skewers and great drinks. They do offer other dishes than skewers. Staff were quick to seat us and gave us a semi personal booth (some tables require customers to remove their shoes and use the provided slippers). For 2 people, we ordered over 10 dishes and paid less than ¥8000, including drinks and tax. If you don't speak Japanese, no worries, you can order from the tablets provided on the tables and change the language on it. Very much would recommend and eat here again.
Its up the stairs, unfortunately no elevator, and no vegan/vegetarian...
