Dining Ajito — Restaurant in Osaka

The place was not too crowded and the interior is in the style of an English pub. In this restaurant we met the best server in all of Japan (he may be the owner). Tried his very best to speak English for us. Food was great - Japanese take on western dishes like risotto and steak. He showed us a certificate of the beef they used. It was very well marbled and juicy. With what little English he knew, he went over each and every ingredient in every dish. We told him our budget was 12000 yen, or 3000 per person, but we ended up ordering some drinks. He was concerned about exceeding our budget, we said it's alright we will pay. The bill came, it was 12000. We thought they forgot about our drinks and we tried to remind them. He said "no, total is 12000, welcome to Osaka". Small menu but done well. Good ingredients, seasoning and balance in the dish. Service seems uneven though. Our larger party was given a bar table but a single (familiar?) customer was given a proper table which got cleaned rapidly. Some of our dishes went to another familiar(?) table that came & ordered later, resulting in some of us waiting for their meals. That means everyone waited at our table to start together. Small homey restaurant with delicious food and a lovely owner that speaks pretty good English and is REALLY outgoing and friendly. Without the doubt the friendliest Japanese person I’ve met in my three weeks here.

In terms of food, the steak was really pleasantly grilled with that charcoal flavour. Omelette was fluffy and the sauce was delicious. Note that you can find packaged versions of their curry at local stores.
