Recently, I had the pleasure of indulging in the Oyster and Chicken White Broth Ramen from next shikaku, paired with a special Burdock Beer. This meal was truly unforgettable, offering a luxurious experience for the taste buds.

The ramen is the star of the meal, capturing the essence of culinary delight from the very first bite. The chicken white broth, creamy and milky in appearance, is incredibly rich. As you take a sip, the intense flavor of chicken fills your mouth, as if all the essence of a whole chicken has been condensed into this bowl. The addition of chicken fat adds a smoothness to the broth, giving it a delicate oily texture without being greasy. The inclusion of oysters adds a unique oceanic touch to the ramen. The oysters are tender and juicy, with a sweet and briny flavor that perfectly complements the rich broth. When soaked in the soup, the oysters become even more tender, almost melting in your mouth, adding a touch of luxury to the dish.

The noodles are the soul of the ramen, and next shikaku's noodles are truly exceptional. They have a beautiful golden hue, with a perfect medium thickness and just the right amount of chewiness. Each noodle is perfectly coated with the broth, absorbing its flavors without becoming soggy. As you chew, the firmness of the noodles intermingles with the rich flavors of the soup, making it impossible to stop eating.

The special Burdock Beer that accompanies the ramen adds another layer of unique flavor to the meal. Burdock has a distinctive aroma, with a hint of sweetness and a subtle bitterness. When combined with beer, these unique flavors are perfectly preserved. The beer has a fine and abundant foam. As you take a sip, the aroma of burdock hits your palate first, followed by the maltiness and slight bitterness of the beer. This unique combination contrasts sharply with the rich and savory ramen, yet achieves a wonderful balance on the taste buds.

The Oyster and Chicken White Broth Ramen at next shikaku, paired with the special Burdock Beer, offers a truly memorable dining experience. The ramen's rich and layered flavors, combined with the unique taste of the beer, create a harmonious and delightful meal. If you're a food lover looking for a special culinary treat, this combination is definitely...

I visited the Hong Kong branch of this restaurant last year and had no idea it originated in Osaka, where the main store is located. We hadn't planned to stop by, but after leaving Kuromon Market still a bit hungry, we noticed a relatively short line and decided to give it a try. Knowing how transformative the Hong Kong experience had been, I couldn't resist. The Osaka branch is intimate, seating only around 12 guests. This spot specialises in an exceptional oyster-based broth and keeps things simple with a focused menu of about three options. They truly excel at what they do. I ordered the same dish I had in Hong Kong: the Oyster Broth Dipping Ramen (asobu), accompanied by their melt in your mouth beef nigiri. The oyster broth is what sets this place apart— distinctive, rich, and creamy, with a deep, pronounced oyster flavor. It's nothing like traditional ramen, which makes it all the more unique. The flat noodles are perfect for dipping into the flavorful sauce, creating a deliciously indulgent experience. The restaurant itself has a sleek, modern vibe. The dim lighting paired with colorful digital projections on the walls creates a calm and almost dreamlike atmosphere, making the dining experience feel special and immersive. If you're not a fan of oysters, this place likely isn't for you. But for oyster lovers like myself, it's an absolute must-try. The price point is another highlight—we paid ·1,050 for the ramen and ·350 for two pieces of beef nigiri, which is incredible value for the quality, service, and originality of the food. It's also significantly more affordable than the Hong Kong branch! For anyone in Osaka who loves bold, untraditional flavors, I highly recommend stopping by. It's a unique experience that celebrates oysters in the most...

We arrived at 7:45 pm on a Wednesday and ordered from the ticket machine out in front. You can get the ramen in 2 sizes, medium or large. It has English translation and they take cashless payments only. We waited 17 mins before we got seated. Known for their oyster ramen we got 1 bowl and a side of oyster rice - to share. They also had a tsukemen version using wide fat noodles which I wish I had gotten as well. But we wanted to try other restaurants that night as well, being the foodies that we are. A foodie can only fit so much in their bellies.

The restaurant seats around 14. As you enter there is a huge square table that seats 8, and there’s counter seating for 6. You can instantly smell the aroma of oysters. If you are seated at the table you can see everyone around you eating. They have a projector displaying graphics on only half of the wall. The other half was missing a projector. You will find your eating utensils in the drawer under the table including an apron and pepper mill.

Our food came out 5 mins after being seated. Wow, what an oyster flavor bomb. The bowl comes with 1 oyster, 1 pc of pork belly, bamboo, raw onions and some purplish-pink flowers. The broth was not salty and had a strong oyster taste. The pork belly was tender. As for the oyster rice I would pass on it. Though the oyster flavor was light, it contained no oysters.

When we left at 8:18pm there was no line. Staffs were smiling and friendly and brought us an empty bowl knowing we were sharing. They even bowed as we left the restaurant. If you like oysters, this is not...
