Coffee-kan - Shinsaibashi — Restaurant in Osaka

I decided to come to this Coffee-kan as I'm used to good, fast service from the other ones I've been to.

Compared to my experience in the Asakusa branch in Tokyo, this Coffee-kan is significantly worse. Not only did food come out far later (witnessing customers come in much later than us and get served faster and have their food come before my own??.) I had to sit and wait 20 minutes for some toast while my partner had her entire meal before that whereas in Tokyo, we'd be served and out within about 30 minutes.

Have been to this location of Kohikan a few times to meet friends for coffee/tea, sadly this location is a bit dated compared to the location off Sakaisuji in Minamisemba.

The food seemed to be average compared to the other location.

2nd floor seating area feels a bit crowded as well and you can feel really feel how dated this establishment is once you...

This place has English menus. A good place to stop by for breakfast or tea.

Their charcoal roasted coffee is excellent with sugar and a dash of milk, and I definitely recommend their soufflé pancakes (or ‘hotcakes’ as they are called on the menu).

Their toast sets are alright; not for big eaters though.

This place has a smoking room (it’s on the 2nd floor); patrons on the first floor may occasionally catch a whiff of cigarette smoke, but...
