I reckon the views are the best in Kitahama as it has a large terrace overlooking the rose garden. Also, it was not too busy for a Saturday morning. Music was a bit too upbeat for my liking (think Sobakasu) but then they changed to Utada Hikaru and others and felt better. Although, later, a scaffolding was being assembled next door and that was a bit disruptive. Don't know if they are going to start construction work. Unfortunately, this is not in the cafe's own control.
The sandwiches are not cheap (1000-1300en) but the drinks are normal price (latte 480en, black coffee 350en, I think).
I had the Hokkaido salmon sandwich. Unfortunately, it had too much sauce to be able to taste the salmon and it was a bit hard to eat. It felt fresh and the bread was good, though. Don't know about the other sandwiches.
Cannot comment on the latte as the machine was not working then, so I chose black coffee and they returned the difference in cash. But the coffee took 25minutes to arrive!!!
I had paid with PayPay and then I got a return of the full amount, including the sandwich, without they saying anything! Communication can be improved as I thought they forgot about the black coffee and they never mentioned the return of the money via PayPay. I mentioned it to the clerk as I was leaving and I paid again. Had I not said anything, I'd have left with more money than I came in with!
I felt they were overwhelmed even with 5 members of staff and less than half of the seats taken. As it's a new place, maybe they haven't found their feet yet.
The black coffee is nice. So maybe I will come again for the...
Read moreDropped by Sandwich Parlour 47 and tried two of their sandwiches – one with herb shrimp fritters and aurora sauce, and the other with teriyaki chicken and a fried egg. I also had a grapefruit soda on the side.
The teriyaki chicken sandwich was the standout for me – packed with flavour, with a lovely savoury sauce that paired beautifully with the crispy bread. The cabbage inside was fresh and crunchy, adding a nice contrast in texture.
It did take a little while for the food to arrive, but I got the sense everything is made to order, as both sandwiches were served warm and delicious – definitely worth the wait. Each sandwich was served with a side of potato wedges and a slice of orange.
There’s outdoor seating available, which I really appreciated. I sat outside overlooking the Tosahori River and ended up spending a full hour there. It was incredibly peaceful and calming, with birds flying by, ships drifting past, and the gentle flow of the river in...
Read moreWhat a fantastic place for a morning breakfast. Good Italian coffee and amazing sandwiches. The atmosphere at Sandwich Parlour 47 is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to start your day. The coffee is top quality, just like you would expect from a proper Italian espresso bar.
The sandwiches are definitely the highlight. They are fresh, generously filled, and perfectly balanced in flavor. A special mention for the egg, which was beautifully cooked with a rich and vibrant yellow yolk that added extra flavor to every bite. You can tell they put a lot of care into selecting their ingredients. Whether you are craving a classic option or something a bit more creative, the menu has something for everyone.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and even though it was busy, the vibe remained relaxed. Highly recommended if you are in Osaka and want a great...
