Ahilya — Restaurant in Tokyo

During our stay in Shinjuku, Tokyo, from May 21st to 27th, we were searching for an authentic Indian restaurant for dinner when my wife discovered Ahilya Restaurant in Yoyogi.

Giving it a try turned out to be a fantastic decision. The food was truly impressive, rich in authentic flavors, and the hospitality was equally remarkable. A special thanks to Jaisingh Rajawat for creating an atmosphere that made us feel right at home, just like in India.

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Japan that I came accross. We went to many Indian/ Nepali restaurants during our trip in multiple cities, but taste of this restaurant is closest to authentic.

It is a very small place, adjacent to JR station. Staff is courteous, they will prepare food as requested.

Excellent food, deep and layered complex flavors made each of the 7 curries we tried today a feast. Appetizers were good as well.

Service is about what you might expect, not bad just not notable.

Store is tiny so if you're going with more than a party of 4 I recommend making a reservation.
