Daitōryō Annex — Restaurant in Tokyo

I am writing to report a troubling experience I had at your restaurant. During my visit, I encountered a waiter wearing glasses who exhibited discriminatory behavior.

Initially, I was told there would be a one-hour wait for a table. However, I observed that when Japanese-speaking customers arrived after me, the same waiter informed them that the wait would be much shorter. It became apparent that this discrepancy in wait times was due to the customer's language or possibly race, as the waiter assumed I would not understand his remarks.

When I confronted him about the inconsistency, he pretended not to understand and feigned ignorance, which further aggravated the situation. This type of behavior is unacceptable and undermines the quality and reputation of your establishment.

If you want to eat like a local in an izakaya, this place definitely has that vibe! 💖 We went here during lunchtime and the place was packed! We had to wait roughly around 15 minutes before we were seated in on of those makeshift tables on the side street (which made the experience even more authentic!) 💖 almost everything is in Japanese so we were delighted to learn that they had an english menu upon request. This is one of the few yakitori restaurants that was open during lunch service and it surely did not disappoint! Highly recommended to those who drop by Ueno, don’t miss the dining experience enjoying the gourmet, wide variety, just right portion, aplenty range of sake & wines, beer, and most importantly don’t miss out it’s signature dish, in which you will not miss at the entrance, a big brewing pot, stewing hot with tofu & the restaurant secret recipe (i.e., pig stomach).
