DEAN & DELUCA カフェ 丸の内 — Restaurant in Tokyo

The location is quite nice with seating inside and out. The young people who work here are nice and give good customer service but the elderly female employee… she yelled at me quite rudely when I tried to tell her my drink order (I had just ordered some food and didn’t know she wasn’t the one to take the drink order. She could have just told me nicely, or at the very least not yell and use rude Japanese). She then yelled at my friend because she misunderstood when he said we would eat outside. She thought he said he wanted a set (I guess she misheard 外 for セット?) She said "No, it's not possible for your order to be a set!" He just looked at her surprised and confused.. I hope she never takes my order again if I go back...

東京駅（丸の内口）、大手町駅のいずれからでもアクセスしやすいカフェです。特に休日はカフェ周辺の通りは歩行者天国となり、自然とこのカフェを含む周辺の飲食店は利用者で混雑しますが、天井も高く広々とした空間設計であるため、客同士がお喋りに興じていても、酷い喧騒を感じることはほとんどありません。数は少ないですがオープンテラス席があり、また前述の通り休日はカフェ周辺の通りは歩行者天国となっているため、テイクアウトでコーヒーを注文する客も多く、一日を通して席の確保が困難であるほど混雑しているわけではありません（それでも客の回転がとても良い、というわけではありません）。アメリカ発祥のカフェだからか、海外からの観光客の利用が多く、メニューも日本語だけでなく英語も併記されています。一部のカウンター席には充電用の電源コンセントも設置されています。 給仕される料理やドリンクの種類は豊富で、特に料理はパンやパン生地を使った料理が主です。事前に注文を受け付け支払いを済ませるスタイルで、すぐに給仕できる料理やドリンクは給仕カウンターで受け取り、給仕に時間を要するものはスタッフがテーブルに届けてくれます。混雑した時間帯でも給仕のスピードが遅くなることはあまりなく、スタッフの手慣れた接客対応が見て取れます。一方で給仕される料理（特にパン）が固かったり、過熱にムラがある場合があります。

The cafe is easily accessible from either Tokyo Station (Marunouchi Exit) or Otemachi Station. Especially on holidays, the streets around the cafe become a pedestrian zone, and the surrounding restaurants, including this cafe, are naturally crowded with customers. However, the high ceilings and spacious design of the space means that even when customers are chatting with each other, you rarely feel a terrible bustle. There are a few open terrace seats, and as mentioned above, the streets around the cafe are pedestrianized on holidays, so many customers order coffee to take out, so it's not so crowded that it is difficult to find a seat throughout the day (although the customer turnover is still not very high). Perhaps because the cafe originated in the U.S., it's often used by tourists from overseas, and the menu is written in English as well as Japanese. Some counter seats are equipped with power outlets for recharging. A wide variety of dishes and beverages are served, especially dishes made with bread and dough. The dishes and beverages that can be served immediately can be picked up at the serving counter. If it takes time to serve the food, the staff will deliver it to your table. Even during busy hours, the serving speed is rarely slow, indicating that the staff is well versed in serving customers. On the other hand, the food served (especially bread) may be hard or...

If you ignore certain individuals who don’t know how to behave in public—grabbing chairs from other tables despite being alone at theirs—the café itself is actually quite decent.

The taste of both the drinks and food is pretty standard; nothing extraordinary, but not bad either. A solid middle ground.

If you're looking for a place to have coffee ☕ or tea 🍵 along with a sandwich or cake, this spot is a reasonable choice. However, keep in mind that finding a seat might be difficult due to its location and the people mentioned above, as well as those who sit for long periods with their laptops or phones.
