About 25 seats downstairs with only minor traces of Nepali decorations. Japanese TV and I couldn't get any ID on the kind of modern sounding background music. Pretty standard menu and it seems that dinner menu is only slightly more expensive. Wi-Fi available on request.

The chicken with eggplant curry was quite good with a base slightly on the thick side. Maybe I should have gone a notch higher on the spice? Sweet yeasty naan was quite good. Salad was the average except for the tomato. I blame the GMO tomatoes. Calling it a strong four...

“I had an amazing experience at Himalayan Village! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying authentic Himalayan and Nepali flavors. Excellent food at this place! (Finally, after several disappointments in this area.) I had Mutton curry that tasted really good and the meet was super soft, and Dal curry that came in a set. Also, the best garlic naan I ever tried. The staff was polite and spoke English. Atmosphere was also pretty nice! Chai tea should be...

人形町界隈でこのジャンルでは、「アンキットの気持ち」と人気を二分する繁盛店。ヒマラヤを標榜していますが、看板には〝ネパールカレーキッチン〟とありますので、インド料理ではなく、明確にネパール料理屋さんなのですね。個人的にはインドのカレーとネパールのカレーの違いが分かりません(^^)。 窓の無い地下の店内はテーブルが5～6卓と、壁に向かうカウンター席が3つ。地下空間ですので閉塞感はありますが、壁面はウンチクの書かれた黒板やメニューを紹介した可愛らしい小窓、テレビなども設置されており、和やかな雰囲気。店員さんは無表情でしたが、訛りの残る日本語でお客さんに懸命に対応されていました。 この日は先輩方のレビューを拝見して初めから『鉄板焼きカレー(¥1,000)』と目標を定めておりましたので、初志貫徹です。辛さは得意なので「3」にて、コレステロールが気になるのでチーズはトッピングせず生卵も抜きでオーダー致しました。ま、これが実は失敗でした。サービスのドリンクはアイスコーヒーにしようかと思いましたが、この種のお店では初めからガムシロップが入っていたりするので、無難にウーロン茶で。 鉄板でやってきた焼きカレーはオレンジ色に煌めき、また想像以上に水分量が多く、まるで辛い〝おじや〟を食べているような気分になりました。そしてその辛さもなかなかのもので、冷房で快適な店内でも汗がダラダラ止まりません。チーズも生卵もないので辛さも中和されず、最後まで一本調子の味と辛さ。これはホントに自分のオーダーミスでしたね。量も多いので途中ですっかり飽きてしまいましたが、たまにサラダを挟んだり、チキンティッカを噛ったりして箸休めにしました。 それにしてもスパイスによる辛さの質は高く、非常に爽やかな後味。脂分も少ないのでこのボリュームでも何とか食べきる事ができました。チキンティッカの香ばしさも一定の水準以上で、料理のグレードはそれなりに高いことを伺わせてくれます。次回は無難に普通のカレーセットでリベンジ予定です。
