This restaurant was one of the highly recommended by my travel consultants to experience during my April, 2023 two week travel around Japan. Considering the previous 3 Michelin Kaiseki and Sushi restaurants I dined at, I had a lot to compare this dining experience with. For my first lunch I chose the Appetiser and Nigiri option, accompanied with good sake. Really liked the selection and the consequence in which was served. Struggled a bit mastering some of the sashimi served with nori with the chop sticks, was close to picking it with hands (highly unacceptable) :) The Nigiri, perfectly executed, loved the balance between the slight sweetness of the rice with the fish/seafood top, perfectly sized, easy to hand pick and enjoy in one bite. Chef Ichiyanagi was very attentive explaining the served dishes. At one point I asked him to slow down a bit the tempo since I started that day with abundant Japanese style breakfast, which he did. I also knew that this restaurant as all other highly sought after places had few reservations during the narrow lunch time frame with each booking timed for about an hour. A small price to pay for the gourmet experience they offer. I wanted to return for dinner before my departure, but we couldn’t get a reservation so we managed to get me in for a quick Nigiri & sake only lunch with my driver waiting outside to rush me for the airport. Definitely will be back on my next Tokyo visit,...
Read moreAmazing food and a super fun experience. If I come to Tokyo again I’ll absolutely come here. I recommend booking through Tableall if you aren’t a local!
Coming into this I saw many reviews about how the chef could be unfriendly to foreigners, charge them more, and give them less, and this could not have been more untrue. As a group of 4 (very clearly) foreigners the chef was kind, funny, and served us well. We even stayed late just drinking and asking about his favorite foods and restaurants.
I will say though if you want this experience I recommend learning a couple Japanese phrases, be respectful, and be patient. Remember, you are a foreigner in a Japanese restaurant, with a Japanese chef, in Japan. If you go in and expect him to know English and understand you perfectly, then that’s your own fault.

Read moreTerrible service to foreigner, please do not go to this restaurant. Only friendly to Japanese people, the sushi chef only kind to local people. the chef was lazy to introduce you what exactly the sushi is.
Also, plates were never cleared, Booked via Tableall for 42,000 jpy per person; but the acutal top price currently is 27500.I’m not sure if Tableall charged a surcharge, but there are way better options in Tokyo. 42,000 is not paying for such rude attitude and such formal dinner. (I don't think the content of the set for 42,000 is equal to 27,500 set)
I tried to comment my experience of the dinner in Japan's local website, however, considering to the reality, the comment was removed from Publilc. what can I say, This is my actual experience. I cannot believe I encounter this in Japan for the first...
