The food here is truly delicious, no complaints there. That’s what makes writing this review even more frustrating — because the breakfast service is a complete disaster.
I have experience in both the gastronomy industry and extensive travel, and I can confidently say: this was one of the most chaotic and poorly managed breakfast services I’ve seen in my life.
The breakfast option seems convenient — you book it with your hotel stay, you come down, eat quickly, and head out to explore, work, or travel. That’s the whole point of hotel breakfasts — speed and ease. Unfortunately, this restaurant fails miserably in delivering that experience.
Every single goddamn morning we had the same issue. No matter what time we showed up — 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 — we were forced to wait 20–30 minutes just to be seated. Then they’d politely take our vouchers, bring water and towels, and we’d immediately yell out our order (there are only 3 breakfast options anyway, and meat lovers beware — nothing for you here). We had to shout it out ASAP because otherwise we’d be stuck waiting another eternity just for someone to come take it.
And then? Another 15–20 minutes for the food and coffee to arrive. For reference: the breakfast consists of ready-made or quick-prep items — a piece of bread, a salad, a bean/egg paste, yogurt, and a drink. It’s not exactly a gourmet-level complex meal.
But the service? Absolute chaos. Half the tables were covered in dirty dishes. Staff were rushing around with no sense of who’s doing what. Hotel guests were mixed with walk-ins from the street — there’s no separation or system in place.
One morning we came at 8:40. By 9:20 I had to literally run to the subway — hungry — because I still hadn’t gotten my food. Six people including us were waiting for a table, which took 20 ridiculous minutes, while the restaurant was clogged with unbussed tables.
It was a mess. A total time-waster. And yeah, I’m sad to leave a negative review because the food really is tasty — but the service ruined everything.
You stand there like an idiot, having paid for your breakfast in advance, waiting god knows how long — and it doesn’t matter when you come between 7:00 and 11:00, because for five days straight, we waited anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes just to be seated. Meanwhile, half the restaurant is empty, and half of the people actually sitting are random walk-ins from the street sipping water and tapping away on their laptops. Like… are you kidding me? Is this some sort of joke?
For anyone reading this: there are a few small shops and a great bakery nearby with good food and — most importantly — you won’t waste 40+ minutes of your morning just trying to get breakfast. Especially when you wake up early on purpose to go out and see the city. Don’t waste...
Read moreGood service, filling and yummy food. Tasty coffee. Y’all press the button to order (after reading some reviews I saw some people didn’t get served because they didn’t know you need to press the table button for the staff to come over).
On to the food and coffee review: Pleasantly surprised to see a “豆乳オーレ” (cafe au late but with soy milk) on the menu! I can’t have dairy so this was a good option. I ordered the shrimp katsu bread (which is essentially a giant shrimp katsu sandwich) and it was DELISH! Piping hot, crispy mouth-feel with delicious white tartar sauce-type spread and soft af bread! Yum!
My only qualm was that I was seated at the counter-type single seats close to the entrance and as people opened the door to come in or out, a giant cold gush of wind hit me every time. So I was quite cold. Also the staff didn’t offer me a basket to put my purse in and the chairs were severely slippery so I couldn’t hang my bag on it either so my bag was on the...
Read moreWent at around 2pm, and immediately being directly into our seat. They gave us a table that can fit 4 people eventhough we were just 2 people, which is nice!
They have a dessert set which gives your a 100 yen off for the dessert, for every drink that you order.
My friend ordered the famous shiro noir, and I ordered the mini size. I think the normal size is enough to be shared within 2 people, it is quite huge! It comes with maple syrup on the side too. Shiro noir is like a pancake but kind alike a croissant dough. Serves hot and topped with soft serves.
For my drink, I ordered their iced coffee ole with sugar, it tasted exactly the same as the one they sold in convenient store! They gave us a pack of nut as a drink service, which is a surprise for me :D
I think this is a good place to rest after walking around the area, like kappabashi. They also have a selection of sandwiches which I didn't take...
