I don’t understand what the table charge and service charge were for. What service was actually provided? The drinks were also extremely overpriced, and the prices didn’t even include tax. In Tokyo, it’s very rare to find restaurants that don’t include tax, which made me feel deceived. Honestly, I felt ripped off. I truly don’t understand where all the high ratings come from. The dinner was disappointing overall—perhaps lunch would be more suitable. Not recommended.
(For reference: the photo shows the set for one person — minced meat tofu, fried cheese, tuna, grilled chicken, rice, miso soup, and the required drink order. Two of us spent nearly 12,000 yen, comparable to U.S. prices.)
Additional Comment on Owner’s Attitude: I also noticed how petty the owner is when replying to low-rated reviews. Why can’t customers share their honest experiences? Suggesting that my review was “malicious” is absurd. My boyfriend and I actually ate at your restaurant and paid the bill. Or do you expect us to pay separately? Maybe that’s what you used to do with your own dates—stingy habits aside, don’t accuse customers of lying.
What exactly about your service justifies a service charge? Are you a Michelin-starred restaurant? Are you in Europe or the U.S.? The arrogance and self-righteousness are astonishing.
You also claimed that I didn’t leave after looking at the menu. In reality, I stayed because I thought it would be rude to walk out and wanted to see what kind of service you actually offered. The conclusion: it was...
Read moreI’m already socially anxious at best in my first language, so it was a little intimidating going here knowing only basic phrases in Japanese. But Google Translate was all I needed. Great food, and cozy atmosphere. It’s a cash only establishment with no receipts. You just hand over the cash when you’re done with your meal. No receipts unless requested. I saw some recent reviews from other foreigners complaining of discrimination, and after my visit, I could not disagree...
Read moreI love truly local places like this, one chef owner/operated if I had to guess. Very limited space, it serves the community some great food and service. Bring Google Translate to read the menu because the menu is only in Japanese and the staff speak Japanese (no English). Easily worth it though if you seek to dine like the local Japanese, with quality. Yellowtail was my favorite but the menu changes. Show respect and you’ll be treated...
