I wish Google would let me review individual dishes rather than the entire experience, because man it was a roller coaster of emotions here.
We went in due to the captivating smell of what I assumed was the seafood paella. We got the set menu with salad, steak, Valencia style paella, and ice cream, which was about 3500 JPY per person, and each set is for 2 people only.
Salad: small, simple vinaigrette, nothing really notable or memorable.
Steak: 11/10. The meat was very tender and I'm not sure what the sauce was but it was slightly sweet and honestly one of the best sauces I've had on a steak before. This was BY FAR the best thing we had.
Paella: how in the world did they win the paella championship? There was not even a trace of socarrat (the crispy bottom). How are you going to be a paella restaurant with no socarrat??? The flavor was also lacking all around. The chicken wings had that boiled chicken type of flavor. The rabbit was overcooked to a point where it felt almost grainy. The beans felt undercooked. The snail was fine, but I literally have nothing good to say. I was actively upset eating this and didn't even finish it even though I was not full.
Vanilla ice cream with marmalade: The ice cream was not exceptional but actually pretty good especially with the marmalade. I was pleasantly surprised. The unsweetened iced tea caught me off guard with how good it was. Very floral and fruity without it tasting like what soap stores smell like. The iced coffee also was surprisingly refreshing and high quality.
Service: the staff are very nice but not very attentive. We were finished with the paella and waiting for our dessert for a good ten minutes, and the restaurant wasn't even that busy because we went on a weekday post lunch hour.
Overall: I would go back for the steak and tea/coffee any day, but they do not deserve to call themselves a...
Read moreThis is our last night in Japan, spent about 13 days. Never have I wrote a google reviews about restaurant, up until this night
We have a Combo Set and spent around 90 minute until paela arrived, honestly that is way too long and the food taste ordinary compared to the price (we spent around 13k yen for 2 adults)
I had to leave in outrage because too much time consumed there. I kept asking the waitress about the paela, and they always said "since you order a combo set menu, so we arrange the time for course to come out one by one", honestly I think since we order a combo, it shouldn't be waiting too long like this (around 30minute spent from our last menu to paela)
We left after paela served and never taste the dessert
Even 2 tables that come after us already finished and left, before our paela served
When I confront about the time spent too long for waiting paela, the cashier said they gave me discount on desert as a complimentary apologize
Actually it is not a complimentary, because I left in rage before the dessert is even left...
Read moreThis restaurant is the worst! They continued to get our order wrong, no apology no nothing. That can happen but you expect good food then at least. We ordered some 3 types of tapas and a paella. We are stille hungry. The layer of paella is so thin that it sticks to the pan and you have to scrape it of the bottom. De tapas were ok but they just didn’t serve it. When I asked for it the manager acted like I was impatient but he just didn’t get the order right and make me feel like it was my fould. The worst restaurant in all of Japan! The only restaurant with no line in front of the door, I...
