One of the Worst "Indian" Restaurants in Japan – A Total Disgrace to Indian Cuisine If you're genuinely craving Indian food, avoid this place at all costs. I visited this so-called Indian restaurant hoping for a taste of home, but left completely disappointed and frankly, angry. The food was nowhere close to authentic Indian cuisine. It felt like someone googled a few recipes, added random spices, and dumped it on a plate. The curries were bland, the naan was rubbery, and the biryani (if you can even call it that) was a sad, oily mess. Absolutely no flavor, no fragrance, no soul – nothing that remotely represents the richness of Indian food. To make matters worse, the prices were outrageously high for the kind of low-quality food served. I don’t mind paying for good food, but paying a premium for a plate of mediocrity is just insulting. The service? Below average. The staff didn’t seem to care, forgot our order twice, and didn’t bother to ask if we needed anything. Not a smile, not an apology – just cold and careless. This place is not just failing to serve good Indian food – it’s defaming the name of Indian cuisine. As someone who loves and respects the diversity and depth of Indian cooking, it hurts to see such a poor representation in a country like Japan. I will never, ever visit this place again. One of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. If you respect your taste buds and your wallet – stay...
Read moreThe lunch set seems very competitive, it's cheaper than any curry in Asakusa I think. However, the amount of curry is less than in other places, and the mango lassi was smaller as well. All things considered, I'd say the lunch set price is about the same or slightly higher than in other places in this neighborhood. The curry itself was decent. The mutton curry was pretty good, but the butter chicken curry was unexpectedly sweet. Both were nothing special, just average curry.
What I really didn't appreciate was when someone on the table next to mine started smoking. For a restaurant that puts ashtrays on all tables, you'd expect them to have a air conditioning that can deal with it, but quite the contrary is the case. It's only because smoking in restaurants is very common in Japan, that I still...
Read moreI’m not a person to write reviews, but this is a legit spot. If you are in the mood for good curry and amazing Indian food, look no further. This place is just amazing. Also, if you want a good beer to with your food, get the Taj Mahal premium lager. The taste compliments the food. Reason for no pics is due to the fact I destroyed that food as soon as it was...
