Saigon Marunouchi — Restaurant in Tokyo

The worst Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to in Japan and the worst restaurant experience of my life. The food is bland, carrying no characteristic of Vietnamese food. The service is slow, space crammed and waitress super rude (or at least the main waitress for lunch hour is) but it is still very crowded due to the convenient location.

I ordered Bun Bo Hue which is supposed to have rich broth from slow cooked bones and distinct flavor of Hue shrimp chilly paste, but I got a bowl of greasy tasteless soup with noodle instead. Everything else was passable as food at best, tasteless or close to instant/frozen mass produced food, dry and not fresh.

This place is also more expensive compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I’d recommend avoiding this one. (But there are a few really good Vietnamese restaurants within walking distance of...

I was brought to this restaurant for a business lunch. The line outside the restaurant was very long, and I was grateful for the fact that we had reservations. Apparently the restaurateur has been in successfully running Vietnamese restaurants for over 20 years. What a shame that it was such a massive disappointment. Let me skip to the worse offense...I found a cockroach deep fried along with my soft shell crab dish (no joke). But beyond this obvious signal that the kitchen must be disgusting...the rest of the meal was passable at best and the restaurant staff made the experience tragic with their poor attitude and bad service. The worst restaurant experience ever. We were able to get water only after asking about it the 3rd time even though the restaurant was half empty, half of the dishes that came were not what we’ve ordered.
