This is my 3rd month in Japan and this place warrants a review from me because of its bad customer service.
To balance this review, here are the good points: food portion is not little and of substantial amount, the place is clean and the lighting, music and ambience are nice.
I ordered ginseng chicken soup which in my opinion was rather bland but I am not complaining at this point. The ginseng taste wasn't obvious and since it is towards the bland side, at least I know it is healthy and no MSG is used. I wanted to ask for chilli paste/ raw garlic and was waiting for the staff to walk past or something but they didn't so I got up. I walked over and saw they were busy chatting which to me wasn't a concern because everyone needs a break right? I showed the staff the translated text on my phone to which she replied to me in Japanese which obviously I don't understand but what annoyed me was she touched my phone. Ok nevermind, small issue, I went back to my seat and sanitised my phone and she brought some dried chilli flakes which wasn't really what I want but well, better than nothing.
The last straw that warranted this review was when the staff came over to clean my table and shove a bill on my table when I did not ask for it nor indicate any behaviour that I was leaving. I have never experienced this in my 3 months here in Japan. Isn't this rude? It is like telling me I am not welcome here and I have to get out of here just because I have finished eating when the restaurant is not even half full. So people who are not eating alone don't get such treatment but people who eat alone get such treatment? I guess regardless of cultures, cleaning the table and shoving a bill when the customer is still sitting there is just plain rude and uncalled for. People may not remember what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Gosh. Please retrain your...
Read moreI enjoyed it a lot! They seem to be more upscale and lacked some of the foods I would normally eat like tteokbokki and chapchae, BUT what they did have was delicious and not that spicy for Korean food for those that may not like spicy things. They had a delicious alcoholic pomegranate soda drink that was absolutely amazing though.
It's located at the tippy top of the Takashima shopping center so take the...
Read moreI am not the biggest fan of Korean food, but I still go to Korean restaurants once in a while to try to understand why Japanese people love it so much... Takashimaya has many delicious places and this one in comparison is pretty bad. I had the beef bowl with cheese. It was expensive, not so tasty, and as often with Korean restaurants, the meat was...
