I’m sorry need to write this review…

this is the worst sushi i have ever had in my whole life. I thought when you are in Japan, you can randomly walk in any restaurant to eat the fresh sushi.

but in this one, when I saw the chef took out the tuna from the fridge wrapped by plastic wrap piece by piece… I know it’s not alright... but never think will be that worse.

the snow crab was still forzen and have water inside. Uni smell bad and taste so bitter. I’m lucky that i haven’t have diarrhea after this meal.

the chef seems so friendly but too talkative. I don’t feel good to tell him the sushi were bad. So I just want to finish my order asap and left immediately.

it’s only for tourists and i’m not sure why have some good ratings . the standard is even worse than buy from...

The owner of this restaurant is not very genuine. As someone who has had omakase several times, I can tell that their ingredients are not fresh. What’s worse, the owner shows clear favoritism, for the exact same omakase course, customers who came later and were native English speakers received noticeably fresher ingredients, and the cuts and components used were completely different. I do not recommend Chinese customers to try this place. Additionally, we ordered sake, but the owner didn’t show us the bottle or tell us the brand, and the taste was very mediocre. Honestly, this was the worst dining experience I’ve had during my...

If you're looking for a truly authentic sushi experience, this is the place to be. Very affordable yet high quality sushi. If you're staying at Hotel Tavinos, you get a 10% discount. The sushi place is run by the owner, who is a joyful, talkative, but above all very skilled chef. He serves omakase 10 piece (chef's special recommendations) for 5000 yen, lunch set 8 piece for 1000 yen, and you can also order a la carte. If you're in Taito and Asakusa, you have to visit this place. You'll leave with a satisfied...

This was one of the best places we visited in Japan. It's actually a hidden gem!! The chef was so welcoming and friendly and we had lovely conversation. It felt like a premium omakase and we only paid $10 for the lunch set menu. The sushi was delicious as well with the rice very nicely flavoured and fish really yummy. We came at a non busy time ~1:30pm and the chef told us so many interesting stories in his best English and it really added to our experience.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Japan. I like sushi a lot but as an American have been struggling with the type of sushi here. It’s very fishy and raw and not what I was used to. That being said Ashiwara is def one of the best places I’ve had since coming to Japan. It was fresh and fun to try. This is a true authentic sushi shop - they sell fish only and nothing else like a true shop should. Thank you for incredible service and food! Very fair price too.
