I was looking for a good sushi experience in my short day layover in Tokyo and this place fit the bill. Chef Tetsuka was a disciple at the famed Kyubey sushi in Ginza.

Easy, no frills reservation online via Table Check - something most restaurants in Japan don't even offer. Reviews look good, I don't see any bad experience by foreigners and I truly felt welcome by the chefs and the service crew on the day itself. The crew all speak English too.

Absolute value for money omakase lunch and beautiful ceramics - if you're a drinker please get sake here and they will let you pick a cute ceramic for this. I didn't even like a few fish that were served but because of the freshness and quality of ingredients, the chef changed my mind about certain fish for the better. Would absolutely return again in a heartbeat. I wish the team...

Sushi Yu - 鮨 佑

Tucked away in a Ginza alleyway, in the basement of an unassuming building, Sushi Yu offers an exquisite culinary experience. The meal ranks among the top three omakase experiences we’ve ever had. We opted for the 10-course set and added an extra serving of uni, bringing the bill to ¥31,000. Highly recommend for...

The most terrible experience I ever had in Japan. When my friend booked this restaurant, there was no mention of 45-min meal time and a cancellation fee at 25,000 yen. While I arrived on-time, my friend was stuck in traffic. I had been warned to give back the table within 45 mins and should I choose to leave, I must pay 25,000 yen on the spot. Even though we confirmed to stay, they kept reminding us to return table before we eat. This restaurant is just run by impolite mobs....
