Sushizanmai Main Branch at Tsukiji offers a lively and bustling atmosphere, even late at night. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese décor, creating an authentic sushi dining experience. Despite the late hour, the restaurant was full of energy, with chefs working diligently behind the counter and customers enjoying their meals.
The sushi at Sushizanmai is top-notch. We tried a variety of sushi, including fresh prawn, salmon rolls, and some specialty cuts of fish. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and each piece of sushi was meticulously prepared. The flavors were vibrant, and the rice was perfectly seasoned, complementing the fresh fish.
The prawn sushi was succulent and tender, with a subtle sweetness that highlighted the freshness of the seafood.
The salmon rolls were delicious, with a perfect balance of fish and rice. The rolls were tightly packed and easy to eat.
The steamed egg custard (chawanmushi) was a delightful addition, creamy and smooth with flavorful ingredients like mushrooms and fish roe.
The specialty sushi pieces were a highlight, with rich and buttery textures that melted in the mouth. Each piece was garnished with fresh herbs and sauces that elevated the flavors.
The service at Sushizanmai was efficient and friendly. Despite being a busy time, the staff were attentive and quick to respond to our needs. The chefs were also very engaging, making the dining experience more enjoyable.
Sushizanmai offers excellent value for the quality of sushi provided. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. For a 24-hour sushi restaurant, the freshness and quality of the food were impressive.

Read moreAs long as if it's not a lunchtime peak, you don't have to wait in line to get in. I came here every time I came to Ginza, and I never waited, and I came in right away. but today, it was very strange, the food came out really late. Even though there weren't many customers. And even after the food came out, I asked for the basic water and green tea, and the staff hit the tablet PC on the table and she just walked away. I was dumbfounded, but I just used the tablet to call the staff, but no one came for 10 minutes (again, I went at 3~4 o'clock and there were no customers at the store.) So I called the staff passing by, but she ignored me, and I called the other staff member AGAIN, and he said okay and then I didn't get the water; more than three times, I finally got it. I also saw an Australian sitting next to me asking for water, and they found out he couldn't speak Japanese, giggled among themselves in the kitchen by Japanese, and laughed at him for being stupid and rude, mimicking his English pronunciation ridiculously and being silly. (I can speak English and Japanese both) When I was making the payment, the Australian woke up together with me, but the staff member asked him to bring the bill, and he didn't understand what she was saying and struggled, so I helped him. I went back to his seat together and helped him bring his table bills. The poor Australian thanked me in a sweat. I have been to this store several times, and it was my first time experiencing it, and I don't know where all the friendly staff members of my past have gone. I paid for the table, but my appetite ran out, so I left right away after eating what I ordered. I don't think these people should be...
Read moreAfter walking around Tsukiji market for a while and eating small bites, we decided to stop by here to sit and eat a more full breakfast. We came by around 10am on a Monday and there wasn’t too long of a wait (maybe 15 minutes) since there is plenty of seating inside. We were served hot green tea right when we sat down which was perfect for the cold day! The ordering here is done on an iPad which is super helpful as we could change the language to English and take our time looking through everything on the menu. Then the order gets sent directly to the chefs and you can add more to your order on the iPad after as well. They offer a lot of different set sushi platters or chefs selection sushi plates, but we opted to just choose pieces of nigiri we were most excited about. You can also select if you want wasabi or not when adding to your cart, which was great. We sat at the sushi bar so we got to watch the chefs make our nigiri and all the other sushi and bowls, which was so cool to see.
Every single piece of fish here was so fresh and delicious. My personal favorites were the medium fatty tuna (chu-toro) which had perfect texture and the shrimp which was so melty and sweet, but everything was amazing. It was also extremely affordable for the quality. We had already been eating all morning so we just got 11 pieces(the uni nigiris being the most expensive), but it ended up being around $30 USD.
Highly recommend this spot, it was delicious, clean, and easy to navigate even if you don’t...
