First time visiting this particular restaurant.
The cost of the menu is what you’d expect for the area, Roppongi is one of the most expensive areas in Tokyo after-all so not much criticism there.
Although it’s “Burger Restaurant” I ended up eating the chicken salad. It was very pleasant, however, I couldn’t look past the cost for the amount of food. As far as value for money goes II’d be lying if I said it didn’t bother me when I was eating. Being expensive is fine as long as there’s value.
My colleagues had burgers and they said the burgers tasted fine. Not the best ever and not bad.
Here’s where my hick-up comes in, they have this really bizarre way they make you order food. There’s a small piece of paper attached to the serviette holder with a QR code on it. You have to scan it and it’ll redirect you to their website from which you have to now order...
Man, when did the “normal way” become “not good enough”. The site isn’t very intuitive and it’s a brutal mix between average English and normal Japanese. They have (what feels like 42) add on options for everything you order and some of it cost extra while others don’t. After having to ask the staff for some assistance, he helped me through the site but man, too many add on options.
Overall an average experience. I won’t be back and it’s not because of the food or the cost just that absurd ordering...
Read moreStep into The Counter and embark on a burger journey like no other. My wife and I have become frequent visitors, enchanted by the culinary symphony that unfolds with each bite. Our usual indulgence, the "Old School," is a masterpiece of flavors—a juicy 100% Angus beef patty nestled between a soft brioche bun, adorned with cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and the Counter's secret relish. However, our latest escapade led us down the path of pure bliss—the Mac-n-Cheese Burger. Picture this: the familiar Angus beef, complemented by the creaminess of mac-n-cheese, all encased in the comforting embrace of a brioche bun. It was nothing short of extraordinary!
But the experience doesn't end with the burgers. The Sweet Potato Fries and Shoestring Fries served alongside elevate the meal to new heights. For those feeling indecisive, the Signature Burger menu is a beacon of guidance, showcasing expertly curated combinations that are bound to please even the most discerning palate. Made with responsibly sourced beef cooked to perfection, every bite at The Counter is a testament to culinary excellence. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or a first-time visitor, The Counter promises an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to try this Tokyo location of a California chain that I had been to many times. This location, in Tokyo Midtown mall is spacious and has an upscale feel (probably because it is an upscale mall). They have of course their standard burgers, but we decided to go fully customizable. The burgers are very good, my partner called it his new favorite burger in Tokyo. I have a couple of critiques, while the burgers were good, I didn't find the beef to be exceptional (compare to some other high end burger places in the neighborhood), I generally prefer my burgers on the well-done side, however I thought they should provide a choice how well you would like your burger cooked.
Service was generally ok, but there was one female who bordered on rude. A couple of times while talking to her she just started walking away to the point I was yelling across the restaurant to tell her what we needed - by Japanese service standards it was pretty egregious. Having said all that, we we will definitely go back because my...
