I visited The Okita Bar while staying at a nearby hotel in Tokyo. I don't often write reviews, but I had to after my visit here. The bar is a little tough to find - located on the second floor of a building off the main street - but it is so worth it. The bar is nicely decorated in an understated way and has jazz playing in the background. Okita, who is both the owner and the sole bartender, is incredible. He has been a bartender for over 10 years, and his knowledge and passion are truly unmatched. Opening The Okita Bar is his life dream, and with good reason: he is meant to make cocktails. His presentation, attention to detail, and care while making drinks is unlike anything I have ever seen, and it shows in the results: his cocktails are truly amazing. He makes fresh fruit juices for the cocktails, carves ice cubes by hand, and select each alcohol carefully for every drink. The cocktails and drinks menu is extensive but he can also make drinks that aren’t on the menu.

The atmosphere is muted with soothing jazz music and it usually isn’t too busy.
We went every evening and were never disappointed. Thank you so much Okita-san for everything! We...

The bartender was authentic and calm, making an effort to communicate with the foreign guests in fluent English, even though he wasn't overly friendly.Every cocktail was excellent, and the bar offered a wide variety of whiskeys, including Japanese options like Yamazaki and Hibiki. The charge fee was just 1,000 yen, which seemed very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a calm and...
