Then dressing of sesame (for cabbage) was too tight and impossible to open. I was told that they have time limited pork cutlet which was raised with brown rice: It was pricy, but ordered. Not like I was told, half of it was hard to eat or falling apart when I bit. Guests around me were asked if they want free refill of cabbage, but not me. No one came to ask if I want more rice or miso soup. Usually, they serve a hot tea in the end, but no offer. Compared to other customers, I was treated like was not exist. I like Saboten and have been eating there with generations in my family, especially that branch. I felt I was not qualified as their customer. Yeah, a little pricey but in my opinion it is worth it for the quality of food served. Good portion.
The restaurant environment is clean and cozy. Cant expect much as most restaurant are small in Japan. This outlet in Shinjuku station not that small though.

Read moreWe had a group of 11 persons, the restaurant claim to only serve 10 persons and below. We know it is a big group and were ok to split tables either 6-5 seating or 4-4-3 seating. The service staff refuse to accept our offer claiming they do not want to serve group of more than 10 persons. LOUSY SERVICE, do not go unless you plan to be turn away at their discretion.
