Had lunch with my two teenager kids. My son loves ribs and my daughter a bit picky and limited in what she eats (GF) so I decided to give this place a try based on reviews and menu. We had nacho and vegetable salad as started. Bothe were good, but nachos a bit small size while the Italian dressing for the salad was really good (similar to the onion dressing at Ikinari). The my son had the ribs lunch express whole me and my daughter shared the combo plate (ribs and steak with mashed potatoes). The lunch express was good size and served with fries and rice. My son said one of the best ribs he had and he rated it higher than Outback’s one. Steak was tender and good size. Overall quality of food was really good and fairly prices but what impressed me was the service: outstanding! They asked about allergies and made sure all we ordered was ok and what my daughter had was GF. They were extremely attentive and kind! Location is just few minutes walking from Roppongi station and next to Hard Rock Cafe. The ambience is typical American diner, quite small (maybe 10 tables) but comfortable. So overall highly recommended for a family lunch in case you fancy some...
Read moreDespite its downfall in the U.S., Tony Roma in Japan is very much alive and seemingly doing well. We all know what Tony Roma’s is (it’s the place for ribs), so I won’t spend a lot of on the details of the menu, which you can take a gander at for yourself, but of course Tony Roma’s is the restaurant chain famous for American fare. The menu does have a lot more than ribs, but I don’t know why you would order anything else. We ordered an onion loaf , and each a plate of ribs in the “Roma Rack size.” The “Roma Rack” turned out to be much larger than expected, and if you are not super hungry two people could probably share it, or get one size smaller. The ribs were tender and delicious just as I remember. The restaurant, which is nestled below Hard Rock Café in Roppongi (and is apparently the chain’s first overseas location), has the original Tony Roma’s décor, but everything (including the menus) is starting to feel a bit worn. Service was prompt and friendly, and overall it was a good (albeit a bit pricey) experience. Worth a visit if you’re hankering for that American chain restaurant experience, and of...

Recommendation: Original ribs
What can I say, hands down the best ribs I’ve had in Japan. The softness of the meat and the flavour of the sauce (original only).
Also tried: Spicy ribs, honey ribs, and bbq chicken wings set.
Spicy ribs: Wasn’t so spicy, but the flavour can’t compare with the original. Honey ribs: tastes as you can probably imagine. A little too sweet for my liking. BBQ chicken wing set: the wings were quite good and reasonably tasty (but lacked in quantity). The blue cheese dipping sauce was amazing! Ended up even using it as a spread for the bread. The spinach thing was average, the onion rings were ordinary, and the onion ring sauce was quite unappealing.
FYI: I’ve tried ribs in 2 other places (TGIF’s and Smokehouse, both were substandard). This place is a contender to Mike’s Kitchen (if you’ve ever had it in Australia)
