Tuna specialty Ginza Hanatare — Restaurant in Tokyo

A warning to all international travelers: this establishment engages in deceptive and disrespectful practices.

Our first attempt: We entered a nearly empty restaurant (one occupied table). Without a word of greeting, the chef arrogantly waved us away like stray animals. No explanation, just a dismissive gesture. Fine. We promptly made a reservation via Google Maps and returned minutes later.

This is where the situation turned from odd to offensive. The chef approached us and stated the restaurant was "fully booked," attempting to direct us out. When we produced our confirmed reservation, his facade broke. He was caught in a deliberate, outright lie.

The issue isn't being turned away without a reservation—that's policy. The issue is being lied to in a calculated attempt to refuse us service even with one. If you wanna bring friends to hang out, this is definitely NOT your place. The lady server fumbled with all our tea cups without cleaning, messed up my rice with her fingers in, cut our conversations, ignored our requests, all of these unprofessional behaviors without any apologies. We ordered the most expensive tuna dishes but the staff has been disrespectful of us, especially my foreign friends - she mocked them and thought we didn’t understand Japanese. Worst service...

I visited this restaurant on March 22. Despite having a reservation, I was treated in an unfriendly manner by an employee (I'm not sure if it was the manager or the chef) when I was about to enter the restaurant. He made a "cross" gesture with both hands, and after that, he even showed an unpleasant expression.
