I recently had the pleasure of dining at the renowned Tokori restaurant in Tokyo, where I indulged in a delightful Japanese wagyu barbecue feast. Located in the heart of the city, the restaurant offers a prime window seat with a captivating view. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who exuded warmth and positivity despite their limited English proficiency. Nonetheless, communication was effortlessly facilitated with the aid of Google Translate.
Nakanishi, one of the outstanding members of the Tokori team, deserves special mention for the exceptional service provided throughout my dining experience. They were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my visit was enjoyable. Nakanishi's attentive and friendly demeanor made me feel welcome and well-cared for throughout the meal. Their dedication to providing excellent service was evident in every interaction, and their assistance greatly enhanced my overall dining experience at Tokori.
The ambiance of Tokori Restaurant is immaculately maintained, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The interior decor tastefully blends traditional and contemporary elements, contributing to an authentic dining experience. As I settled into my window seat, I couldn't help but appreciate the breathtaking view that enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the exceptional quality of the wagyu beef. The meat was undeniably fresh and of the highest caliber. Each piece melted in my mouth, showcasing the renowned tenderness and marbling that wagyu is celebrated for. The skilled chefs at Tokori expertly grilled the beef, ensuring it was cooked to perfection, releasing an enticing aroma that tantalized my senses.
While language barriers occasionally posed a minor challenge, the staff's positive and accommodating attitude, including Nakanishi's valuable assistance, made up for any communication difficulties. Their genuine smiles and dedication to providing excellent service created a welcoming environment that made my dining experience all the more memorable. Their willingness to assist, coupled with the aid of Google Translate, ensured that I received prompt and attentive service throughout the meal.
In conclusion, my visit to Tokori restaurant in Tokyo was an exceptional culinary journey. The combination of the restaurant's prime location, exquisite wagyu beef, well-maintained ambiance, and the exceptional service provided by Nakanishi created a truly memorable dining experience. Read moreForeigners should be especially careful. There are many other good, inexpensive yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo.
We ordered the highest priced 13,200 yen per person course, but the meat was not worth the price, and it was one of the worst yakiniku experiences I have had in recent years (even if it was half the price, 6,500 yen per person, the meat quality was not worth it).
The beef tongue was tough (not as good as the 3,000 yen all-you-can-eat restaurants Gyukaku and Yakiniku King in Japan).
The extra high quality ribs and roasts are okay, but not good enough to justify the 13,200 yen price (even at half the price of 6,000 yen, it's still expensive).
The harami (halami) smells like internal organs and is of a quality that is less than that of an all-you-can-eat restaurant at 3,000 yen.
The sauce is too salty and tastes bad no matter what kind of meat you eat.
I think that this restaurant probably has a good promotion for foreign tourists and is surviving by offering average quality meat at a rip-off price mainly to foreigners who don't know anything about it (I don't know what's going on in the restaurant).
Anyway, if you are Japanese and have a good palate, you will never repeat...
Read moreIf you are looking to eat good quality wagyu then this is DEFINATELY NOT the place to visit. They serve extremely low quality so called "wagyu beef" for the buffet style which cost 9350 Yen per pax. Apparently for buffet style they give you the unwanted low quality parts of the wagyu cow. They only serve those high quality wagyu for ala carte Menu. Each piece of wagyu beef served is tough and difficult to swallow. I had to choose the super thin slices from the menu in order to swallow it.
McDonald's beef burger would taste so much better than the wagyu beef here. Please look for alternative restaurants instead of this. For 9350 Yen per pax you surely can find other better alternative. Even if they charge me 5000 yen per pax I would feel its way overpriced.
If you are extremely hungry, just grab something else from convenience store instead of coming here. It will avoid you having a...
