We booked a table for a valentines meal and from the moment we stepped through the door had a fantastic experience.
It is a great privilege to be looked after with such care : the menu gastronomique is the perfect opportunity to let your senses go on a memorable trip around European and South African shores, all the while firmly grounded with local ingredients.
There is a truly hearty welcome on offer and the stories you will hear from your hosts will demonstrate the love and attention which has gone into crafting this beautiful sensory experience.

Read moreThis restaurant is run by a wife and husband team. Chef Scot, cooks up wonderfully created dishes with all the finesse of a Michellin star chef. He even produces his own incredible misos to enhance the already beautiful ingredients, using sunflower seeds or walnuts. Everything is made with incredible flavour combinations, and if you go with the wine pairing menu the dishes are elevated to new levels. No great restaurant should be without a warm, informative front of house. In the case of this restaurant, Kae makes you feel relaxed, comfortable and fully imersed in the experience because of the way she introduces you to each amazing dish, they have obviously worked so hard to create.
This restaurant is a culinary gem and should not be missed either if you are living in or...
Read more2 weeks ago we had again an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Marques.
When we were living in Yokohama we used to visit Marques frequently and it was so good to be back again to expereince the exciting Art diner course. Chef Scott is a master in combining fantastic tastes in all his dishes that are composed of beautiful seasonal ingredients, while Kae is taking care of the guests and matching the dishes with beautiful wines. Each lunch or dinner at Marques is a truly unique experience and Scott’s creativity, cooking skills and passion for food are without boundaries.
The restaurant is easily on par with many 1 or even 2 michelin star restaurants: a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by a wider audiance. I can not wait to visit again during one of my next trips...
