My friends and I enjoyed dinner here when I was in Riga. The restaurant design has a cozy feel, with warm lighting and comfortable furniture on the inside. The atmosphere is refined and relaxed, the perfect combination.
We shared a variety of starters, each delicious in their own way. I really enjoyed the rabbit pâté with rhubarb jelly and onion marmalade, as it was sweet and savory. The Oyster mignonette with pink pepper was also great, and the pepper added a spiciness that made the dish pop. Then there was the asparagus with egg-yolk mousse, cheese chips, and trout caviar which was my favorite, the mix of flavours and textures were a great way to begin a meal.
For my main dish, I chose the grilled veal chop with fondant potato, chanterelles, broccoli purée, and thyme reduction . The meat was so good in in my mouth, while the mix of complimentary flavors was delightful. One friend opted for lamb ravioli with mushroom broth, green onions, and egg pearls and she was very happy with her choice. Same was the friend the ordered the vegetarian dish of radishes with whipped goat cheese and brewers’ spent grains.

My favorite place was fully booked, and I was too tired to keep searching, so I stepped into the restaurant next door. 65 euros for a five-course fixed menu of mediocre food, but 30 euros for a bottle of water, a glass of prosecco (poured from the bottom of a bottle that had clearly been open for days), and a cup of tea? Seriously? I can’t shake the feeling I was robbed. Needless to say, I won’t be returning and definitely won’t recommend this place to anyone. Now I understand why I was the...
Read moreIt was our first night in Riga and we walked from our hotel for about 15 mins.
The restaurant was booked inside, but we were in the bar area. We actually quite enjoyed that space.
The waiting staff were friendly and explained the dishes.
We went with the tasting menu.
The food was very pretty and we got 2 starters and 2 mains.
I have to agree with some of the other comments. The starters came out quickly, but the mains took some time.
We did get some very clever flavours and things that make you think about what is it that you are eating.
There is no doubt that it was expensive. We would still recommend you to...
