Sushi Zanmai Miri — Restaurant in Borneo

I find it to be so-so & quite average. It's not the worst sushi place, but it isn't the best either. We ordered the Aburi Salmon Mentai Don, Hotate Mentaiyaki, 7pcs Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Nigiri, and Lobster Salad.

The Lobster Salad does NOT look like what was shown in the menu. The Salmon Sashimi did not taste very fresh, and it tasted like it was left to sit on the counter for a while before serving. Hotate Mentaiyaki was good, but I wished we were given a better slice of lemon (as seen in the picture). Aburi Salmon Mentai Don was also good, but nothing to shout for.

In short, it's an okay sushi place, but I personally would not dine in here again. The service could be improved too as we didn't feel very welcomed upon entering the restaurant. The seats could also be reupholstered because one of the seats closest to the entrance was torn and fixed...

I had my first dining experience at Sushi Zanmai since my colleagues brought me here. I wasn't sure what I had but you can take a look at my picture for your reference.

I ordered a rice based dish since I needed some energy before my company's regional event that weekend. It was a good portion, suitable for a person with a small tummy like me eating. The meat was chicken I think, and it tasted nice as well. I wasn't sure what the green water I had was but it tasted just a bit sour. It's not sweet. I drank the whole thing because my superior was the one spending her dime on us that afternoon.

Overall, the atmosphere is good. I haven't had the opportunity to taste their sushi yet though. Maybe some day if I feel like visiting this outlet on my own. The service was good and the waiters were accommodating even when we were taking a lot of time deciding...

Recently, I was able to dine in the restaurant and ordered a variety of the dishes available on their menu. However, upon ordering, one of the desserts that I wanted to try was unavailable at the time so I decided to get the mini tayakis instead. My first impressions of the place is that it seemed very private and exclusive due to its interior/appearance and with the hospitality of the staff members, the environment was quite welcoming and cosy. Even with a moderate number of customers during the visit, the service was quick and the food arrived swiftly without any obstructions. Overall, the atmosphere was truly pleasant and the food was delectable which is the perfect combination sufficient enough to keep hold of my desire to come back...
