Green tomyam
I have eaten tomyam and I have eaten Thai green curry. I have however, never eaten green tomyam. Located at the 'hawker' area in esplanade, it's an outdoorsy environment and therefore heat and humidity is an accompanying feature, not a bug. 😁
Depending on your luck, since it's the seaside, the breeze can be very refreshing and cool. The area is generally well maintained and clean, thus fun to eat at.
With regards to the food. Unique, delicious and fresh ingredients. The soup is something I haven't tasted before. Thicker than usual, the soup has enough sourness to kick start your palate, an incredible balance of saltiness, spice and lemak for an incredible flavour experience. As for the noodles, they give this interesting bihun which is different from the other bihun I have tasted before. Made of harder consistency, it's deliciously partial springy and partial chewy. In combination, perfect bowl of noodles to be enjoyed at a breezy seaside hawker centre.
However I must warn you of the spice. Deceptively mild in the beginning, the slow burn will hit you in a few minutes and phew, it does burn. So just be careful if your spice tolerance isn't up there...

I find that the broth for ordinary fish soup not so fantastic but it is ok because really can't taste any special ingredients in the soup. And for green curry, lack of coconut taste make me think that the broth will be diluted. But the fish portions given are very generous. There is one stall selling drinks will ask you any drinks if you sat at open stone chairs facing the sea, if you said you don't need, drink operator will ask you to sit inside as if the places are reserved for premium seaview places. The sign was prominently displayed at lamp post to state the customers are free to sit and order at any stalls. You just ignore him, else can call hotline given at the signboard to complain. After food, can take a stroll at waterfront, many balloon sellers put up the spiderman, or other hero shirts to entice your young children to buy...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tried this Michelin-recognised gem in Penang and… wow! The famous green noodle tom yum absolutely lives up to the hype 🍜💚. Located in a lively food court with a sea breeze and sunset view nearby 🌅, it’s the kind of meal that’s worth planning your day around.
Yes, the queue is long. Yes, the wait feels like forever. But when that steaming bowl of spicy, fragrant tom yum lands on your table — especially with the crispy fried fish meat and instant noodles — all is forgiven. Highly recommend adding both to your order, they’re the perfect match 😋.
Seats are plenty (so no worries there), but parking might be your mini adventure of the day 🚗💫. Still, foodies know — when the dish is good, parking is just a small side quest. Will I come back again? 100% yes. Might even start queuing...
