RATING - Taste 4/5 - Price 2/5 - Staff 3/5 - Speed 3/5 Choices 5/5
The taste is good. You can fell the sweet and a little bit of spicy flavor in your gravy. But the Pesembur is cold. My advise is let the gravy heated while customers choose the Pesembur and queuing, so that the dishes taste fresh and cooked.
The price is ok, but be careful if you want to take the sotong, udang or ketam. I asked udang is around RM8/9 per pieces. The sotong is around RM40, 10-15 cm i guess, but quite thick. Looks delicious but not in my budget. I just take 2 udang for my Pesembur
At first, the front staff insist to tell the price, just said to me see the price list at board. But when i ask that sotong, it is out of range from the list (RM3-15)😅, so better you tanya habis-habisan before they chopped your Pesembur.
Overall, don’t let your customers waiting too long. I hope there is no intention purposely keep the customers to show your shop is long queuing. Please speed up! The Padang Kota itself is not really clean. You can tutup mata sebelah of you really want to experience eating there. I enjoy eating there, throw back my memories when i study there. I give 3.5 ⭐️ from...
Read moreWhy this remains popular is a complete mystery to me. The commercialisation and mediocrity of the food quality cannot possibly justify the 3.8 star score. While the selection is extensive, many are “lazy & convenient” choices typical of yongtaufu and honestly cannot be considered suitable for pasembur. I mean when did store bought processed crab sticks, fishball and hotdogs become part of pasembur? The taste was bland even for the fried stuff and some were not even fresh (eg. sourish tofu).
They really took their time lazily cutting up my selection and drenched it with the most shockingly red “kuah“! It almost looked unreal and artificial colouring was definitely used given the intensity. The diabetic inducing sauce was sugary syrupy sweet with just a hint of spiciness. Absolutely no kick or aroma. The only redeeming factor is the generous portion of shredded jicama and cucumbers.
My cucur udang, two tofu, two potatoes, boiled egg costs RM16. Would not say it’s highway robbery but it comes pretty close. Would not eat here again. The pasembur on Lebuh Union nearby is by far more authentic, tastier and definitely a...
Read moreVisited Gani Famous Pasembur to see what all the hype was about, but unfortunately, my experience was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. While some of the dishes were decent, I found that some of them were not as fresh as I had expected, and the taste was quite ordinary. Moreover, the food was quite pricey, and I did not feel that it was worth the long queue.
What was even more disappointing was the staff's behavior when I requested a smaller plate. Instead of accommodating my request, they spoke poorly of me, which made my experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Overall, I was disappointed by my experience at Gani Famous Pasembur. While the hype surrounding the establishment is understandable, I don't think the food is worth the price or the wait. Additionally, the negative behavior of the staff further detracted from my experience. I hope that the establishment can take steps to improve the freshness and quality of their food and train their staff to provide a more welcoming environment for...
