I recently visited the food centre to try Gani Pasembur, and while the food was fine, my experience was marred by poor customer service from the stall next door, Sharifah Makanan Laut. As we sat at the table in front of Gani Pasembur, a male staff member approached and asked if we wanted to order kerang bakar. We politely declined, but instead of respecting our decision, he raised his voice and insisted that they were selling it and could take our order. This was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. The raised tone was not only rude but also made my friend feel uncomfortable, almost bringing her to tears.
I understand that people from the utara may have a more direct way of speaking, as I have family from Penang, but there’s no excuse for being disrespectful. If you’re in the business of serving food, kindness and respect should be a priority. A simple “thank you” or “no problem” would have sufficed. I hope the stall owner takes note of this and trains staff to speak more courteously to customers...
Read moreOnce you enter this place, * touts* will be asking you * minum, minum* . We queued for Gani Pasembor. And ordered teh tarik kurang manis and teh O limau panas kosong.
Surprised that teh O limau panas kosong cost RM4. I asked 3 times if indeed its rm4, he said yes. Teh tarik kurang manis is Rm2. The drink stall is the two stalls from Gani Pasembor, next to the ABC stall. Gani Rojak is so so. Nothing fantabulous , to each their own. Very red. ( Last year, we had the Hussain Pasembor- nothing remarkable as well)
We also had 101 rojak buah from the other side of the food court. Its ok. And q was super long.
As it was some 6pm plus, its not too hot. Breezy and slightly windy. Slightly dirty and slightly crowded !!
Will I come back here to makan- NO. ( disclaimer- ownself try, dont...
Read morePasembur, mee udang, satay, kerang bakar and many other local foods can be found here.. but the place is crowded.. so many people and need to be in a long queue to get a plate of pasembur and not that cheap too. Need to wait to get a table. Can't really enjoy the sea breeze (even though it is just next to) due to so many people and smell of foods has overstrip it. Taste wise.. to me is just so-so. I suggest you to go and buy from your preferred stall by yourself rather than simply order from those who came to your table.. the rojak's gravy taste sweet.. errr not something that i like.
There are 2 different sections at the food court. One for chinese foods while the other side is more to mamak and malay foods. Just walk between the sections to find...
