Bao Shi Dee Pastry — Restaurant in George Town

We stumbled upon this store by chance one evening while walking around, we almost didn’t enter but my son wanted to try a chocolate cheese tart.

We purchased the chocolate cheese tart and also the Lychee-Rose Mochi. The tart was tasty but we really loved the mochi! It was so flavoursome and the fruit taste was fresh. The mochi was like a big cloud, a bit messy to eat but delicious!

We returned here on the way to the airport on our final day for more mochi, this time we got Mango Mochi and Oreo Sea Salt Mochi. They were both so yummy! My children also liked them very much. You should eat them soon after purchase as the fruit is juicy and the filling seems creamy-like so you shouldn’t keep...

Passed by this pastry shop, look at the menu got so many unique pastries. I ordered: Soya milk hojicha flavour RM9.50, quite expensive for soya milk but the texture is really different, it is creamier than other soya milk in kopitiam and got hojicha flavour. There are other flavour like matcha soya, thai tea soya, taro, and many more. Soya egg tart, at first I thought the custard made by soya milk, actually no. The soya is just the topping on the normal portugiese egg tart. The taste is light, got soya flavour but not so overpowering. My wife and I are locals, just so happened we had our breakfast nearby. We did not know what was their speciality or what kind of pastry they sell. We asked and they explained in mandarin. So we both are bananas, we asked further questions in hokkien. They staff or boss gave us a look or disappointed face and tried to explain again in hokkien mixed with mandarin.

If you can't speak hokkien, it's fine. But don't buat muka as if we are peasants or lower class people for not able to speak Mandarin.
