UPDATED: 16th MARCH 2019...NEW MENU as from April. Looking forward to it at end of MARCH. Prawn spaghetti Aglio-e-Olio is A MUST TRY, with its dash of dried red chilli flakes and sprinkles of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. DON'T MISS OUT this Master Chef dish.
Superb food. Mushroom RISOTO is to die for. Second to none, out of Italy. Glad we ordered it. Rice is perfectly cooked, not to soggy. Blend of cheese and wine is gentle to the pallet. With just the right amount shimeji mushroom to adorn the serving.
Kraffmen signature salad with the right amount of healthy kombucha dressing is the way to start your meal. We had some add-ons, and they came in generous amount. Value for money. WHAT A GRAND START.
Baby Pork Ribs is well seasoned, succulent and juicy. The extra side BBQ sauce is not warranted. But, i guess, many locals would appreciate the extra thought of extra dips.
The Banana + Salted Caramel; and Nutella + Peanut butter milkshake will send you to Timbuktu and back again; asking for more. Leaving nothing too heavily on the tongue. Each concoction is really very refreshing and taste is well balanced.
To end the evening, we ordered the Cempedak Cheese cake. Well priced and taste is beyond description. Again, we are totally blown away: simple yet out of this world.
The ambience is composed of friendly faces; with free and easy cosy seating. Staff are very accomodative and easy to talk to. Enjoyed the pleasantries all the way.
They have an event hall above the restaurant that could take up to 40-60pax, 40 being comfortable. Any other electronic gadgets or equipment required can always be arranged.
It was indeed a worth while family outing. Highly recommended to all with highly tuned taste buds. KRAFFMEN is a place worth coming back over...
Read moreIf you crave for 'Melbourne-nian vibes in a cafe, this place is the right place to have a drink, delectable food and minimalist (and instagrammable too) environment. For me, the stars of this restaurant apart from serving good cup of coffee, the food served here are top notch.. you can almost feel that the food was made with passion (so kudos to the owner/chef for crafting and perfecting the recipe).. and the ingredient used are 'no-nonsense' and serious quality value products. So its fair business, you pay what you paid. We tried risotto, and pasta, meals incorporated with sourdoughs, poached eggs, succulent cod/salmon and the mushroom soup, to say the least.. it was heavenly. The things about food scene in Penang is consistency..and its quite hard to find it though.. but if you look well closely,.. i think i found consistency here in KRAFFMEN.
No, i am not a professional food blogger or critics, i am just happened to be Penangite, who now lived abroad.. and with an honest opinion to put jot them a few of my fond experiences in this assuming cafe. We (6 of us visiting on 22Feb 2018, its not my first time though) Actually im proud to have this quality restaurant in our own 'backyard'. Keep up the good work Kraffmen. You will have my patronage whenever...
Read moreThis cafe on a side street is very Aussie in style and in its friendliness you would find in any Aussie cafes with the addition of dishes that are both unique and much more yum. We tried the spaghetti, one in English curry and another in prawn bisque. The curry was rightly mild and went surprisingly well with the spaghetti. The prawn bisque was mixed rightly with some chili, bringing the bisque flavour to linger in the mouth longer. Coming from even the gastronomical capital, Hong Kong, we honestly had not tasted spaghetti so good or at least so good in English curry or prawn bisque (with three prawns) which worked brilliantly. I would describe their food natural in taste -- no MSG or strong flavour dominating the dishes. Then we had a cup of mocha - good one -- and an iced mocha which was mixed with ice cream -- creative and refreshing. Not to be missed is the cheese cake which is eaten warm. They put a special Malaysian fruit in between the layers. Our first time having a warm cheese cake. It was natural sweet, not sugar sweet. Just wonderful! I have to mention also the waitress serving us. We asked her what she would recommend for the cakes and she went into details of every one of them. Good advice as it turned out. Polite and very friendly too. Will definitely return before leaving Penang. You won't want to miss this place! An easy...
