this is my second review after the one I was forced to do so and I deleted as it's not the one I want to give faithfully. The atmosphere was nice and clean. The taste was good, but all the food are quite cold and not any hot when served even we chose from the steam stall and whatsover. The hottest thing is from only our teapot and the outside weather. Almost staffs are nice, espeacially at from serving area and front counter, except the staff at fried menu counter and one that I'll explain later on. We try to communicated to her but she never spoke to us and ignored us even we didn't finish our order yet. She seemed tired to speak to us, only hand pointing somewhere that how could we understand this without any words. At the end, she skipped us and let someone behind the queue to order theirs instead.
And the reason why I came back to write this review is beginning from the free dessert. We were given a free one. Auntie offered us a free one if we write a review in this. So we agreed and were happy to do so. But when I tapped into this app, she almost managed and asked me to fill all the things with a very high-commanded voice: photos, raitings, comment and yes she was waiting and watchinng everty step until the review is posted. While the app was loading, she even signhed and acted unfriendly that I was some slow on this; she even tried catch my phone to tap it on herself. I think it's inappropiate. It should be something from the real user not the thing should be pre-approve from the restuarant. And we didn't finish the food, so how can we summarize and rate it in that fee minutes? I understand it's a giveaway come with condition, but why do we need to feel being uncomfortable and forced instead of willing to do or enjoying this? When finished, she asked and checked my username twice and I think it was to listed for them as a free given dessert record or to watch if we give them a bad feedback.
Overall, Me and my friends are dissapointed to the service of them most, and the second is food. We searched all the social medias and ended up here because numbers of review here. but yeah It's exaggerated at some point when I was there. Hope this help for whoever see...
Read moreA Disappointing Dim Sum Experience As a dim sum spot often lauded as one of Penang's best, I arrived with certain expectations regarding the ambiance, which unfortunately weren't met. Our group's visit was particularly challenging. Despite arriving in stages, there were no combined tables available, leading us to split into two separate groups.
Our initial interaction with the service set the tone. An older server approached us for drink orders. Given that our group didn't arrive all at once and we were already separated, we naturally ordered in smaller batches as members arrived. However, this seemed to test the server's patience, culminating in a rather rude comment along the lines of "pesan satu satu, mati oh," which felt entirely uncalled for considering the circumstances of our staggered arrival and seating.
The dim sum service itself was equally rushed. Servers pushed carts without giving us much time to view the options or make our selections, whether steamed or fried. It felt less like choosing and more like being presented with a forced decision.
While the food itself was decent (I'd rate it a 3 out of 5), this establishment is certainly not ideal for first-time visitors, nor is it suitable for groups larger than five. If you do decide to visit, I highly recommend seeking out the younger servers, who appeared to be more patient and efficient in...
Read moreI recently visited Tai Tong Dim Sum restaurant in Georgetown, Penang, and was blown away by the quality and variety of dim sum dishes they offered. The restaurant was bustling with activity and a lively atmosphere, with servers briskly moving around the tables and the sound of steam trolleys and chopsticks clinking.
The standout dish for me was the char siew bao, which was simply outstanding. The fluffy and moist bun stuffed with tender and sweet barbecued pork steamed to perfection was well-balanced, and it was clear that the chef used only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.
The service at Tai Tong was prompt and attentive, with servers checking on me regularly to ensure I was satisfied with my meal. They also knew about the menu and made helpful recommendations based on my preferences.
The restaurant's location was ideal, situated in the heart of Georgetown, close to many other popular tourist attractions. The prices at Tai Tong were very reasonable for the food quality and the service provided, making it an excellent value for money.
Overall, I highly recommend Tai Tong Dim Sum restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious dim sum experience in Georgetown, Penang. The quality of the food, attentive service, and reasonable prices make it an excellent choice for locals and...
