First place we had lunch after landing in Penang! It was a Monday afternoon and very quiet. No queue. After reading reviews on here and forums, I decided to choose this place and it does not disappoint. We had the mix chicken with rice and normal chicken with rice and chicken feet. To drink we had sugarcane juice. Atmosphere amazing and the workers all wanted to know where we were from and could also speak English. Very happy! Loves by tourists and locals!

Their roasted chicken was ok. Meat was a bit tough but better than average. The star of this place is the chicken rice itself. It has the right moisture, the pleasant flavor, and the right texture Taste = 5 stars Ambiance = 3 stars Service = 4 stars

This is the BEST Hainan chicken we have had in SE asia!!

Everything from the chicken itself to the flavourful rice and soup, this spot has it all!

The braised eggs are delicious and warm, the local spicy sauce is tangy and gingery!

But what truly made this spot our favourite, was the warm smiles we received as soon as we walked in! The owner was so delighted to ask us where we were from and had such a kind aura.

This place was recommended by the Uber driver as he took us to our hotel in George Town. Just a short distance away, we were able to find the shop easily. Wen Chang is a place In Hainan Province, in Southern China and is famous for their chicken rice. It resembles the famous Hainanese Chicken Rice of SG but less tender and smooth. Rice is fragrant but lukewarm. The minced meat beancurd roll is dry and dense. I give 4 stars because it is a healthier version of the Hainanese Chicken Rice...
