I recently had the pleasure of dining at Basilico, an exquisite Italian restaurant in JB that left me utterly mesmerized. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a remarkable culinary experience. The moment I was seated, I was greeted by the friendly staff, who made me feel like an honored guest. The interior design has a cozy lighting, and a welcoming atmosphere. Basilico is a great spot if you’re craving some comforting and delicious Italian food. The Home Made Wild Mushroom Soup was served just right, warm and soothing, with rich mushroom flavors that felt like a hug in a bowl 😊. It reminded me of the kind of soup you’d get at home on a cozy evening.

The Calamari Fritti was another winner. The calamari was soft and tender on the inside, but the outside was perfectly crunchy 😋. It’s the kind of dish where you get the best of both worlds—crispy and soft in every bite.

I also tried the White Truffle & Rosemary Cheese Fries, and they were amazing 😍. The smell of truffle oil hits you right away, and it tastes just as good as it smells. The fries were crispy and fluffy, with the truffle oil giving them a rich, flavorful kick. The rosemary added a nice touch, and the melted cheese made them even better.

Grandma’s Beef Lasagne felt like something straight out of a family dinner 🥰. The layers of pasta were perfectly cooked, and the beef filling was hearty and flavorful. The sauces were spot-on, and the melted cheese on top added a delicious golden crust.

We ordered their fettuccine carbonara. The fettuccine itself was cooked to an impeccable slightly al dente, providing that satisfying bite. However, the undisputed star of our day, the dish that will forever be etched in my memory for my trip to JB will be the squid ink risotto with scallop. Visually striking with its deep, inky black hue, it’s a dish that captivates before you even take your first bite. The risotto was cooked to an ideal consistency – creamy and yielding, yet with each grain of rice retaining a delightful bite. The flavor profile was extraordinary: a complex, briny depth from the squid ink.
