Other than Oriental Kopi, this is perhaps the Next Most Popular Restaurant in this Mall. Just look at my Photo. Even before their Official Opening Time of 11.00am, there was Already A Very Long Queue of People even at 10.45am on a Friday Morning!
I don't know why but the Queues for this place seems to be Never-Ending. Throughout the Whole Day when I was in the Mall. It is Extremely Rare to see a Short Queue for this place.
Interior of the Restaurant
This place seems to be focused on Roasted Meats and Dim Sums. I believe this is also the Only Eatery in this Mall that you can eat Classic HK-Styled Dim Sums 港式点心.
Customer Service Excellence from the Staffs
Many of the Staffs here look like Foreign Myanmar Folks. They are Friendly, Polite and Keep to Themselves. I was Very Impressed when one of them automatically without me asking, pulled up a Cloth Bin and nicely guided me that I can put my Bag in it instead of on the Floor. This was Impressive because this Staff acted on his own automatically without me reminding or asking.
Customer Service Excellence from the Supervisor
I am also Very Impressed with the Spectacled Senior Chinese Lady Staff with whom I ordered my Foods. Smartly Dressed with a Very Professional and Courteous Poise, She looked like she's probably a Supervisor. I loved her Very Professional Friendly Demeanor towards me that felt Genuine.
Everything from her Behaviour, to her Tone of Voice felt Genuine. It never felt like she's trying to Pretend to act Professional. It felt like she behaved Professional because she really WANTS to be. She was wearing a Mask and I couldn't see her Mouth, but even so, I could "see" her Smiling.
Insane Service Delay Waiting Time for the Foods
I have no idea if this is Normal, or if that particular day was Especially Busy or what, but expect at least 30mins Wait for your Dishes to be served up even on a Weekday Friday Morning when I was there.
Due to Text Limit Constraints, I won't go into details describing everything here. If you are interested to know more, come visit my Facebook Food Blog: "A Solo Singaporean's Guide to JB Foods (And More!)" to view the Full Review...
Read moreThis is definitely the first and the last go to restaurant in JB. Want a good quality of Chinese food in this complex, go straight to Din Tai Fung. Porridge is plain, no flavour at all with some chewy white stuff which is supposedly fish scrap. Liu sha bao - I was expecting some lava like sandy salted egg oozing out of the bun but no. Not sure if this is even liu sha bao, custard bao or whatever. Siu mai looked sad with tiny little drops of roe and nothing to shout about. I wanted to order more stuff including some roast duck. While waiting, I read through some reviews and decided not to. I had to wait 20 minutes for my drink to be served. I think they had to do a lot of work to the soya bean. Porridge came 15 mins later after my drink followed by dim sum 5 mins later. Restaurant weren’t crowded. Tables that came later than me were served way faster. I was told one of the dishes I wanted to order was sold out. Table next to me that came 10 mins later was served the sold out dish. I waved several times to get the attention of so many waiters roaming around but they can’t seems to response. As for pricing, it’s fine if they want to price it high but at least match the quality of food and services. At check out, the cashier said the kitchen is busy which caused the delay and quickly closed case because by now my credit card...
Read moreThis is my first time ever leaving a one star review on Google but I seriously do not understand how this restaurant managed to get an overall rating of more than 4 stars because it's the worst restaurant I've ever been to so far in JB. Ordered a soup & a dessert that's supposed to be hot/ warm but it was served totally COLD. Upon raising to the staff, the staff mentioned that it's because of wind blowing?! I had my first mouthful of food which is COLD within a min of it being served! Did not even leave it on the table for long. offered to reheat the soup & replace the dessert (hence the one star else it would be zero star). Unfortunately, the chicken in the soup remained ICE COLD even after the soup was reheated. It was extremely disappointing but I was too tired after a long day to raise it to the staff again so quickly have some bite and left this disappointing place. The dessert is also bland and the noodles and vegetables are difficult to chew. (Despite mentioning to the staff upon ordering to cut the noodles so that it will be easier to chew but it was not cut at all). The food does not taste good and at the time of visit (dinner time) the dim sum menu was unavailable so there were also lesser food choices. I do not recommend to waste time on this...
