Breakfast What we ordered:
Hainanese Fried Chicken Chop Wat Dan Hor Double Butter Kaya Toast Honey Lemon (Hot)
Hainanese Fried Chicken Chop - 6/10 Was so-so, not too oily and batter wasn't too much. Chicken was alittle thin though. Came with sides - Wedges, Salad and half a tomato.
Wat Dan Hor - 6/10 Was so-so. Served hot but I thought they could have fry the hor fun more as the wok hey taste wasn't really there. We expected better as a lot of reviews recommended this dish.
Double Butter Kaya Toast - 9/10 The Kaya Toast saved the meal. It was the only dish that tastes really good. Generous with the butter and taste of Kaya had a tinge of brown sugar in it. Well toasted and was crispy.
Honey Lemon (Hot) - 2/10 Tasted like plain water with sour lemon. Couldn't taste the honey at all. It's just sour water with 4 slices of lemons in one tiny cup(ratio pls). Not sure if the pre-made honey wasn't stirred well before being poured into the cup or they just didn't add enough honey into the mixture. Was way too bland. Seriously 0% sweetness and 100% sour.
Overall service was good, atmosphere was also not bad as it was recently renovated. Wait time wasn't too bad either, only took...
Read moreThis isn't my first time dining here. As a student who tries to spend as little on food as possible, I ordered their set meal. The main dish was ginger chicken with rice, and it came with an ice lemon tea and a "jelly of the day". It was priced at RM13.90, which after tax, totaled to RM15.50. For this price, I expected the portion to be quite large. But when the food arrived, the dish itself looked unappetising, and the portion was pretty small. Definitely not worth it as i could have gone to Bar Wang Rice to get a proper meal for half the price. Not only that, but the ginger chicken completely lacked flavour. I couldn’t even taste the "ginger" that was supposed to be in there. Not only that, even though the jelly was named "jelly of the day" in the menu, there is only one selection of jelly that tastes just as bad. My friends who ate with me also disliked their dishes, but I cannot comment on them as I didn’t have them myself. The only good thing about the place was the service as the waitresses were kind and nice. However, I am thoroughly disappointed in the quality of food the restaurant churns out. I believe the restaurant needs to revise their menu and ensure their foods quality before serving it to...
Read more1st time being here and the experience was really nice. Good food and most importantly prepared fresh.
Had Green Curry Rice and Tuna Croissant.
Green Curry Rice 🍛: Do not be disheartened by the color of the green curry. It is not green as I expected but the taste is very very thick and very delicious. There is some spice to it but you should be fine. Also compatible with garlic bread or some toast.
Tuna Croissant 🥐: In my opinion, this can actually beat the Delifrance's croissant tuna. The croissant was served hot crispy and the tuna we can tell is homemade. I love every bite of it. A must try for every time you visit Hua Mui Restaurant.
Tuk Tuk Ice: This is actually chocolate milk or Milo and the topping is oatmeal. Nice taste, very thick and something that I feel you don't drink with your meal. But rather it is more like a dessert. Because there is oatmeal at topping, it is very hearty and filling. Yes, I would order it again.
No regrets for breakfast here. Crowd dont really come in until about 845am onwards. Best to come when opening at 8am.
Will definitely come again to try other menus. So far, food...
