Restaurant is a nice and cozy place to get a quick bite or a relaxing tea session. The service is reasonably fast and knowledgeable about the menu

With that said, As a Malaccan (and a cendol lover), i would not recommend the cendol here.

  1. Santan lacks flavour/richness
  2. Lacks Gula Melaka flavour, I don’t think they use gula Melaka as their sugar base
  3. Instead of mashed red beans, they use kidney beans :(
  4. The green cendol itself is hard/chewy & lacks the cendol flavour

Nyonya Laska is acceptable I believe it should have a stronger coconut milk fragrance. Portion is slightly smaller than what I’m accustomed to.

The redeeming quality of the place is the cozy & wholesome atmosphere.

I do wish they would improve on their cendol with some adjustments to their ingredients. Take the time and reflect on all the negative reviews of the...

Baba Low’s Lorong Kurau is a cosy Nyonya kopitiam in Bangsar that serves hearty, homestyle fare at fair prices. Their nasi lemak with fried chicken is a crowd favourite, thanks to its fragrant sambal and well-seasoned chicken, though the rice can be a bit average and the seasoning occasionally heavy-handed. The space is simple and rustic, without air-conditioning, so it can get warm during busy lunch hours, but that adds to the kopitiam charm.

The real standout is their cendol — fine shaved ice, springy green jelly, creamy coconut milk, and fragrant gula Melaka make it one of the best in the area. It’s refreshing, balanced, and the perfect way to end a meal here. Come for the nostalgic atmosphere, stay for the simple but...

My go to for comfort food featuring Malacaan style 娘惹 or Peranakan. I didn’t have the Laksa but instead chose the Mee Siam instead and their popish. The Mee Siam was drenched in their special sauce which consists of tauchu (a kind of soya bean sauce), chillies, assam jawa and sugar. The sweet, sour and spicy sauce makes this fried beehoon palatable and delicious. Topped with fresh julienned cucumber, it give a fresh perspective to the overall taste of the dish. The popiah was tasty and one can still feel the crunchy sengkuang even though it had been cooked and braised. Overall, for a quick and comforting moment of escapism from the hustle and bustle of daily grind, I’ll rate...
