Fairly affordable fresh fish noodles located in the heart of KL. 🐟🍜 In a heritage row in Chow Kit, you will find their unique fish noodles. It’s not often you find soup that contains large tomatoes, preserved vegetables slices and coriander!🍃😍 Old-fashioned indoor and outdoor vintage decor and seatings make the whole experience more special and memorable. ✨
Among many fish and pork noodles options, I tried their: 1️⃣ Fresh Fish Noodles (Mee Xian) that comes with 2 or 3 huge pieces of boiled fish with lots of bones (be careful!) in a milky soup, paired with noodle of your choice.
Love that fresh fish is more healthy than its fried counterpart. The fish isn’t too salty nor has briny. Can taste too fishy for some. ~ It mostly carries the flavours of the soup it’s absorbed - pungent sour and salty, v good! 😋— Fish meat is tender but the bones are annoyingly difficult to eat. 😣 Best part of the dish. 🫶🏼 This is my favourite thing to order here! 🌟
2️⃣ Fresh Fish Fillet Noodles (Mee Xian) Fillet has no bones. Good for the bone haters! Fish meat is harder to bite, and tastes more fishy. Prefer fish fillet.
🍜 Mee Xian - VERRYY good and chewy QQ but still not my fav type of noodles. haha (hor fun & pan mee is my fav) - Noodle is customisable. Options: Mee xian, yee mee, mihun 🍲 Sour soup is amazing. I love the sweetness of the fresh juicy tomatoes and sourness of their crunchy preserved vegetables. Myriad of flavours altogether in one! 🤩
💵 One bowl of any specialty fish noodles is RM13.50-15.50. Quite pricey and not so worth it as the portion is small and unsatisfying.
❗️P.S. You WILL get hungry quickly after eating one bowl.
Barley Fuchuk 💦 is good but a little bit too sweet. Lots of fuchuk.
👩🏻🍳 Service-wise, could be improved. Would prefer is we were spoken to more gently, and appreciated more as customers. Major turn-off is bad service. 😣

Read moreThis has officially become my favorite place for fish head noodles! I ordered their fish paste noodle soup, and I absolutely love their sambal. The soup is rich and flavorful—at first, I thought it might be too creamy and make me feel queasy, but surprisingly, it didn’t at all. And yes, their sambal is really good!
Their coffee also stands out—it has an authentic, rich taste, and the way they serve it gives off a nostalgic, traditional vibe. The ambiance is another highlight. It feels like an old-school kopitiam, which really brings out the charm of Chinese traditional culture.
The only downside is that it can get a bit hot inside. As for the service, there’s definitely room for improvement. I understand that it’s a trendy and busy spot, but the staff should be more mindful of customer experience. One particular issue was when a staff member cleared our table before we had even finished. I usually drink my beverage after my meal, but as soon as she saw my empty bowl, she cleared the table without asking—despite the fact that I was still clearly enjoying my coffee. It made us feel like we were being rushed to leave, which wasn’t a great experience.
I hope the restaurant owner sees this and can brief the staff on being more considerate. Other than that, the food and atmosphere...
Read moreWhat good luck to find this restaurant! A fellow diner informed me that this is a very famous local restaurant, primarily frequented by natives rather than tourists, which I prefer.
We ordered one fresh grouper noodles and one fresh fish fillet noodles, along with fish skin, fried beancurd, KOPI "O," and KOPI "C." The menu offered a variety of noodle options, including rice noodles, flat noodles, and yi noodles. The fish was incredibly fresh and sweet, with a delicious broth that included tomatoes and a hint of spiciness. The fried fish skin was thin and crispy, and the fried beancurd had a unique texture, unlike anything I've tried before. The coffee was rich and aromatic.
The best part? All of this came to less than MYR 65, making it an outstanding value. This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering fresh ingredients and a true taste of local cuisine. If you prefer authentic local dining experiences over tourist spots, this place is a must-visit. The quality of the food, combined with the affordable prices, makes it an...
