It’s refreshing to see something authentic and Malaysian after walking the entire Alor Street market of overpriced and nonsense food.

Sambal is sweet and on the spicy side - which may be to some people’s liking. Anchovies limited. Rice is fragrant and delicious. It comes with kangkung on the side which we liked. We had the paru and beef rendang. Both did not disappoint. This is one of the better nasi lemaks we’ve had in our life.

Seating is limited and there was a bit of a queue when we came by. No bins available but the owner discarded our outside food packaging for us. Saw 3 rats dancing...

During my trip to Malaysia, one of the must-try local dishes everyone kept recommending was Nasi Lemak. I finally got the chance to try it at a small roadside stall in Kuala Lumpur early in the morning.

As soon as the dish arrived, the aroma of coconut rice hit me—it was rich and fragrant. It was an authentic and delicious plate of nasi lemak. The sambal was sweet and nicely balanced, the rice was coconuty and fluffy. I opted for the rendang pairing and found that the pieces of beef were moist and flavorful. Sides of anchovies and peanuts were fried well.
