It was my first time here in Restoran Daawat.Randomly found the Instagram handle of Mr. Noufal. That's how I get to know about the restaurant..As a malayali, Came with huge expectations and happy to say that food taste really met my expectations I've ordered one mutton pepper soup first, That was good,Enjoyed it. Meanwhile I was going through the google ratings and review of the restaurant.I've seen lot of comment which says that, It takes long time for them to serve food to table. As someone working in F&B line, I clearly understand that food is prepared freshly and the delay is because of food preparation.
Service given by Anas(not sure about his name )was clear and there's nothing to complain about service. Then I've tried some of the main courses which is suggested by the service team. The naadan chiken curry&Beef varattiyathu along with Appam, Puttu and Porotta really given the feel of Kerala.
Even though it is in the middle of Bukit tingi, The atmosphere was calm but restaurant ambience can be improved.
I've completed my dine-in with the accompany of a ginger tea and tried their masala tea also.
Overall experience was good. Definitely will visit again to try out some...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for lunch, and the food was super tasty. We ordered the banana leaf set meal, meen pollichathu, parotta, and kadai chicken—it was all amazing. Especially the brinjal curry that came with the banana leaf set meal—oh my god, it was super, super tasty! I asked for it three times and enjoyed it a lot. But there was one problem. From outside, the restaurant didn’t look clean at all, and it really felt like “should we even go in here?” Customers might hesitate to visit because of how it looks from outside. They should definitely keep the area cleaner, because it reflects directly on the restaurant. Right in front of the restaurant, there was so much garbage—it doesn’t look good at all. Not just outside, even inside the restaurant the floor wasn’t clean. I understand it was lunchtime and many customers were coming and going, but still, after each customer leaves, they could quickly clean the table and floor. Other than that, everything else was really good—the food and the service...
Read moreThis restaurant is located in what used to be the lobby of the Corona Inn Hotel. It’s clean and airy but not exactly a fine dining atmosphere. Service is prompt but service staff may have some language difficulty, depending on who serves you.
The Kerala parrota with Malabar chicken curry was spot-on. Fluffy and fresh parrota paired perfectly with a light and creamy chicken curry. Highly recommended.
The chicken biryani served in a banana leaf was another great dish. The rice was warm and aromatic not only from the spices in the rice but also from the aroma imparted by the banana leaf during the steaming process. The serving with several large pieces of chicken was enough for two persons. And it was served with lime pickle and a cucumber raita on the side. Highly recommended.
Mango lassi was thick and not too sweet, just right for my taste. Recommended as well.
I will definitely return to try their banana leaf meal and...
