Read moreGoogle's (or the restaurant's) description of this place as "Asian-Fusion" is a stretch at best. This is an Indian restaurant. Despite a few "Western" menu options it's an Indian restaurant. It's not bad Indian food, but I didn't see anything on the menu that would indicate a fusion, unless that fusion meant within Indian food subcultures. I don't think it did. Cash & credit cards accepted. AC is good and English is spoken.
Indian food option in Bukit Bintang steps away from bar row. Quiet and pleasant, relaxed and casual. Menu options as well as a buffet. Garlice naan was good - a combination of slightly crispy and charred with an internal bit of chewiness, a hallmark of tandoori cooking. Recommended. The sweet lassi as well was refreshing and not overly sweet. Recommended. An appetizer of papadams and sauce was included. Tasty and crisp though a bit of residual oil from cooking.
I opted for mutton (as I nearly always do at Indian restaurants) and chose an option that claimed it was cooked without water, the idea being there isn't so much of a gravy with it. Yet mine still had plenty of gravy, albeit of a slightly thicker consistency than otherwise typical. I ordered spicy and it proved to have a steady, warm heat that stayed with me throughout the meal. If it bothers you, either order it not spicy or utilize a lassi (yogurt-based drink) to cut the heat until your next bite. The mutton was extremely tender - almost too much so, and accompanied by tender but not mushy bits of onion and green bell pepper. Flavor was good.
This seems like a very reliable Indian restaurant. There are no shortage of them in the area but this is a good one with some reasonably priced options. Lots of other folks opted for the buffet so hopefully that's a good sign. Staff was very courteous...
Read more1st day the manager attended us very well so we started visiting this restaurant on a regular basis but from the 2nd time the manager started ignoring us. Quality started decreasing and on the last day they served us cold food that too after waiting 1hour, upon complaining that other table people are getting naans(indian bread) who odered after us the manager came with a lame excuse that they don't hv chef and the manager is himself cooking food so it is taking longer. If you don't hv chef why are you running the restaurant on that particular day. People are paying for their food it's not a free service. This restaurant should know hospitality before running a restaurant business. And the last thing as they are representing India in a foreign country they should know serving clean drinking water for free to any customer is mandatory in Indian restaurants. Sometimes the manager is soo busy with his own restaurant which is in making that he forgets to check the quality of this particular restaurant. They also charged us for the food which was not even served on the table, we cancelled the order because we can't waste our valuable time waiting for a little order but we payed the full amount including...
