NZ Curry House is one of those places in Kuala Lumpur that truly reflects the vibrant food culture of Malaysia. Situated in a prime location and open almost around the clock, it has become a favorite hangout spot not only for locals but also for tourists and expatriates. Whether you are looking for a quick breakfast, a hearty lunch, or a late-night meal, this restaurant always seems ready to serve. What immediately stands out is the wide variety on the menu. From traditional Malaysian favorites like nasi lemak, roti canai, and mee goreng, to South Asian curries, biryani, and tandoori dishes, the selection is extensive. The roti canai is one of their specialties – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and always served hot with flavorful dhal or curry. Their nasi lemak is another must-try, fragrant with coconut milk rice and paired with spicy sambal, crunchy peanuts, and fried anchovies. For those who enjoy Indian flavors, the chicken curry and mutton curry are rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is casual and bustling, exactly what you would expect from a mamak-style eatery. The place is usually busy, especially during late evenings, but the service is surprisingly quick. Staff members are attentive, friendly, and efficient in managing the crowd. Even during peak hours, food arrives at the table within minutes, which is a big plus. One of the unique aspects of NZ Curry House is its late-night and 24-hour availability at certain branches. For night owls, students, and people coming back from work or events, this makes it a reliable choice. Sitting with a glass of teh tarik – their frothy, creamy pulled tea – while chatting with friends or simply watching the city’s nightlife pass by is an experience in itself. In terms of pricing, NZ Curry House offers great value for money. The portions are generous, and most items are very affordable compared to restaurants in nearby commercial areas. A meal for two with drinks often costs less than what you’d expect for the quality and quantity served. The cleanliness and overall upkeep of the restaurant are reasonably well-maintained given the high customer flow. Tables are cleared quickly, and hygiene is acceptable for a busy mamak spot. Parking can sometimes be a challenge depending on the branch you visit, but the food and experience usually make up for it. Overall, NZ Curry House is more than just a restaurant – it’s a cultural experience. It’s a place where people from all walks of life come together to enjoy comfort food, casual conversations, and the true taste of Malaysian hospitality. If you’re in Kuala Lumpur and want to experience authentic mamak-style dining with a wide choice of curries and Malaysian staples, NZ Curry House is a must-visit. We ordered Malai chicken and chicken tikka boneless with tandoori naan.Itwas not spicy as we generally like spicy food. The food portion was ok.The price is moderate. The naan was not so good.

NZ Curry House at KLCC is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Indian food in Kuala Lumpur. This spot quickly became my favorite for both breakfast and lunch because of its inviting atmosphere and mouthwatering dishes. The highlight has to be the dosai—the regular dosai and the onion tava dosai are simply exceptional. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly paired with chutneys and sambar, they capture the essence of South Indian flavors brilliantly. Every bite felt like a taste of home. The service was another standout feature. Being served by the warm and friendly Tamil-speaking staff made the experience even more special and personal, like visiting a local family eatery rather than just a restaurant. Their attentiveness and genuine hospitality made every meal feel comfortable and welcoming. The location is ideal, situated conveniently opposite the KL Tower, making it a great stop when exploring downtown Kuala Lumpur or visiting the iconic landmark. Whether you’re craving a hearty Indian breakfast or a satisfying lunch, NZ Curry House ticks all the boxes—from delicious, authentic food to attentive service and a cozy dining environment. For anyone who loves South Indian cuisine or wants to try something authentic and delicious in KL, this place is a must-visit. I highly recommend the dosai varieties—especially the onion tava dosai—and promise you’ll leave satisfied and eager to return!

All my reviews is in the first pic, but overall i really like their fried chicken chop (although the sauce is watery but taste okay) and okay, they probably forget my hot teh tarik but totally understandable since so much people at the time. The duration we received the dishes is quite fast I must give that one. Although the bolognaise we ordered is quite bland, probably need to see chef’s mood so its alright but all of the nasi goreng is such a delicacy And ONE MORE THING! THEIR TEH IS SO GOOD LIKE IT MATCHES MY SWEETNESS. OKay look, im not a big fan of syrup or overly sweet BUT THEIR TEH IS LIKE ALMOST THE BEST I CAN STILL TASTE THE TEH LIKE OTHER MAMAK ITS EITHER SWEET OR TOO SWEET BUT THIS I CAN STILL TASTE TEH AND SLIGHTLY SUGAR AND I LOVE IT and whoever did that teh HE DESERVES A RAISE RM104 for bolognaise, chicken chop, nasi goreng kambing, nasi goreng thai, nasi goreng kampung, popcorn chicken, fries, coconut water, teh tarik panas, teh o limau ais, coke? I think its reasonable price especially in KL Also theres a little girl who’s hungry and she wants fries so we gave her the whole basket, its alright since shes hungry. Whoever met her, if you have money pls buy her something. She probably has family or she just wanna eat so be kind and be nice to one another pls like you dont have to but if you want to, be nice to one another pls

Visited in early July 2025.

This place was recommended by a young man who said the food is good, as long as you don’t mind local fare with a bit of spice. I do like spicy, authentic local food, so I went in with an open mind and reasonable expectations. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill.

From the start, the service was problematic. The server pulled a fast one on us - bringing food we clearly didn’t order, specifically sardine paratha, and then insisting we had. Who orders sardine paratha, really? It’s not even a common dish. Then, he brought more drink orders than there were people at the table and doubled down, claiming again that we had asked for them. There was no attempt to verify or apologise - just insistence and a dismissive attitude.

The overall demeanor was rude and disinterested. No warmth, no accountability, just a sense of obligation to get through the shift. That alone would have soured the meal, but the environment didn’t help either. The place wasn’t the cleanest - tables sticky, floor in need of a sweep, general lack of upkeep. It felt neglected.

That said, the curry itself was decent. Flavors were there, and it had a good level of heat. But one decent dish can’t make up for poor service, questionable ethics at the table, and a less-than-ideal setting.

Final verdict, 1 star. The food was passable, and I did walk away without any gastrointestinal issues, which, under the circumstances, feels like a minor victory. But I won’t be going...
