I went with my mom, we standed in the queue around 6 Pm, within few seconds a staff with humble gesture called us for 2 person table and we got the seats, we were very pleased with his etiquette. Then the food ordering and service was smooth. Undoubtedly their food is excellent as always. I specifically went this place to give the traditional Malay Cafe style experience to my mom, I learned this chain was quite old with good reputation in Malaysia.
But the unexpected experience came while paying the bill... We were standed in the queue there was a white couple checking the menu card in front of the queue, we were the 2nd (it was not crowded at all) ,I checked them that they are not in the cash payment queue, then gave the slip to cashier, the staff in the cashier (a Malay lady) spoke very rudely (to my mom) that there is a queue and we should follow that, then two other Malay ladies came to ask something about purchasing some stuff (not to pay bill) they were not in the queue and cashier started speaking with them, once they left the counter, the cashier lady approached the white couple politely for the payment, they responded same that they are checking menu..... then I look at her and gave the slip again and paid bill. I told thank you and she even didn't respond back !!!!!
The cashier is profiling the customer. She even doesn't know how to behave with elderly!!!! I don't know based on what !!! After having a very wonderful experience in the restaurant at the end it was a bitter end.
As an Indian expatriate in Malaysia I had countless good experiences so far, there are very few negative count. This one will be one of the most negative memory.
Please give proper training to the cashier. She is ruining the effort of other staffs and the reputation of...
Read moreWent there with the missus this afternoon. Been at the Pavilion outlet on numerous occasions but first time at KLCC.
As usual there was a queue. No problem. Joined the queue but the wait was long…not because all the tables had been taken but because no one cared about the queue. We counted over 5 empty tables that had been cleaned but since no one at the restaurant cared about the queue, we were stuck there until my missus pointed that out to one of the employees. Cleared the entire queue in less than 30 seconds after that.
Food wasn’t as good as the Pavilion outlet and service was terrible. My food came in no time at all but my missus’s order didn’t even arrive after I had finished mine. Yes, pan mee takes a bit longer to cook but not that long. After I had finished my meal, we called one of the waitress over to enquire about our other order and only then (after another 5 minutes) did the order arrive and the meal was terrible and now we know why it was so late. The pan mee was stuck together (meaning it was cooked a long time ago), disintegrated & cold. Noodles were cooked a long time ago but no one bothered to serve it. Asked for another one to be cooked as I wasn’t paying for such food. Took another 5-10 minutes to be cooked but after such a service, nothing will taste good, or even edible now.
To the management: business might be booming but the quality of both the service & food have to be retained, especially at the KLCC outlet. The Pavilion outlet is just fine. This means that the cooks at KLCC are substandard and the person in charge here is mediocre in his/her...
Read morewent here on thursday, queued arnd 1.00 pm and only got seated 1.30 pm but understandable since it was lunch hour. was greeted by a server who let us look at the menu and order in advance.
the ambience was quite busy and gave off a kopitiam-feel and the background was filled w nostalgic songs. the seating was a bit crowded.
ordered the oriental polo bun, penang char kuetiau and prawn mee meehoon. the oriental polo bun and prawn mee were served after a 10-min wait but we had to wait longer for the char kuetiau.
oriental polo bun: the bun was warm, and it was served along with some butter and condensed milk. the bun when added w butter and condensed milk gave it a nice buttery, salty, sweet goodness, and the texture on top of the bun reminded me of the craqeluin on top of a cram puff or a Rotiboy (mexican bun). it added a nice sweet, slightly crunchy feel to the bite.
the prawn me was ok. it had both meehoon and mee in the dish, and had two prawns on top of the noodles. the broth/soup wasnt too thick, but the prawn taste is there. presentation was aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
penang char kuetiau was surprisingly good. i did find the portion to be a bit small, but was enough to fill up my appetite. the wok hei is there, whcih makes it even more appetizing and the egg was cooked well.
also tapau the egg tart and it was still good. warm and crumbly pastry but size was comparably huge to other tarts...
