When they opened last year I was super excited. Scrolling through their social media accounts is mouth watering. Unfortunately yesterday's visit was probably my last one.
Service: rather on the slow side and very inattentive. We were a table of 6. Waitress came to take food orders and after taking the orders of my 5 friends she just walked away without taking my order, leaving me puzzled n speechless. I had to call her back and literally beg them to take my order. While we had our food, no one bothered to come to our table and ask if everything was alright, if we were enjoying our meals or if anything was missing - something that is quite common in other establishments of this price range. When they served us the desert there was no spoon. They brought us a spoon like min after but come on, paying 200-300 per pax one should deserve better service than this. And let me make it clear, the restaurant was not full, maybe 10-12 tables and 3 or 4 waiters.
Food: I can't really say the food is bad. But it's not great either. Ravioli in butter and sage was very bland. Could barely taste the sage like in Italy. Gnocchi with zucchini and scallops. There were 3 scallops and they were a joke, about the size of a 20 ct coin. I'm not kidding. The gamba pizza? Please do yourself a favor and walk some 100 m further down the road to "Heritage Pizza KL". Their pizza is not slightly better, it's like 10 times better than here. And then the tiramisu. Omg, I was so disappointed, how can an Italian restaurant serve such a lousy desert? We had steak, lobster, carpaccio and few other dishes too but I think I've said enough.
Dear owner: I wish you all the best for your business and many guests. However the way I see it, your team's execution is sub-par and there's many things to teach, practice and improve on. Might want to check out Nero Nero, Monnalisa, Enoteca, ZenZero, LA Risata to see how they do...
Read moreAfter several visits to Osteria Gamberoni, I can confidently say this restaurant consistently delivers a wonderful dining experience, combining authentic Italian flavors with a welcoming ambiance.
On my most recent visit, the meal began with perfectly crafted ravioli, cooked to perfection with a tender filling and generously topped with shavings of cheese. The sauce was flavorful yet balanced, allowing the rich filling to take center stage. Accompanied by a glass of red wine, it was the ideal start to the meal.
The mushroom risotto was another standout dish. Creamy and comforting, the risotto had a rich, earthy flavor from the mushrooms, with a texture that was just rightânot too firm or too soft. The crispy parmesan on top added a delightful crunch to each bite.
For dessert, the tiramisu was presented in an adorable jar, which added a charming touch. The layers of light cream and rich, coffee-soaked ladyfingers were perfectly balanced, making it the perfect sweet end to the meal.
The ambiance at Osteria Gamberoni is part of what keeps me coming back. With its relaxed outdoor seating and a view of the bustling street, the restaurant has a casual yet elegant feel. The service is attentive, and every dish is served with care and attention to detail.
Whether itâs my first visit or my latest, Osteria Gamberoni always leaves a lasting impression, making it a go-to spot for anyone craving a taste of Italy in the...
Read moreIt was my first time here and the experience was so bad. The food doesnt really suits the price. All the pastas we ordered were very undercooked and almost crunchy. The food taste rather bland. The waiter also makes me feel like i was forced to order a drink. Asked for a lighter to light up ONE candle and they wanted to charge rm5. I just dislike the way he acted. The female waiter was nice though. The female waitress was okay, but the other male waitress was so rude. We were going to celebrate our birthday there with a cake we brought ourselves and asked for a lighter, the male waiter told us we can only take picture with the cake but cannot eat it if not theyâll charge us Rm30 for taking outside food. We were okay with taking pictures with the cake only asked for a lighter. He then laughed and threw the lighter on our table saying â5 ringgitâ. I understand that we have to pay Rm30 for bringing outside food, but charging Rm5 to just light a candle is ridiculous, its not that i cant pay but i just dont think they deserved it hmmm plus the attitude of the male waiter was just straight away disrespectful for me. Ruined our birthday, never coming back again. Donât even know how they are still running this restaurant...
