Dear REN Restaurant Management, Thank you for your email which is much appreciated. I have to reiterate that as a regular customer of REN Restaurant for several years since it’s grand opening in KLCC, I am really disappointed and flabbergasted by the behaviour and poor service attitude of your restaurant manager Mr. Nizam. Frankly I was merely trying to giving feedback to him that there was an overcharge on my bill from three days ago when I had lunch with friends at REN in KLCC. The amount overcharged was not significant and initially I had only intended to give some feedback to the manager. But I was truly shocked by the bad behaviour and service treatment by your restaurant manager Mr. Nizam. He was indifferent and unwilling to listen to the customer. When I asked him to please check with “the other manager” about my lunch bill from three days ago, Mr. Nizam raised his voice, glared at me and told me off, saying that he is “the ONLY Manager at the REN restaurant. There’s NO other manager here!” And he kept repeating to me that he’s “the Only Manager in REN!” Not sure why that emotional response? Naturally I was rather shocked. Mr. Nizam was rude and indifferent to me as the customer, and just told me in a sarcastic tone that I should check my bill before signing. Is that why I was overcharged? True it’s my fault that I did not check my bill because I trusted the system and I trusted your restaurant. Yes, I was stupid to do so. But I did not expect this kind of rude treatment, indifference and lack of service culture from your restaurant manager. Total lack of customer service and zero professionalism. If I could offer some feedback to your management, Mr. Nizam is not fit to be your restaurant manager at REN or to be a manager anywhere for that matter, let alone the manager of a restaurant in a premium mall such as Suria KLCC. All your other staff at the REN in KLCC are perfectly fine, but your restaurant Manager is not so fine. It is very unfortunate that our regular lunch outing at the REN in KLCC had to be so unpleasant today, plus it was the birthday of one of our good friends, all because of the bad behaviour demonstrated by your restaurant manager Mr. Nizam! Managers are meant to be a role model, and in this case it is the restaurant manager, not the staff, who needs to be re-trained or re-educated, or even dismissed. I trust that your management will take positive action and do the right thing. It will be a pity if all my friends and business associates may have to completely stop dining at REN in KLCC after this bad experience with Mr. Nizam, the one and only restaurant...
Read moreEdit: Now for yet another time they completely messed up the reservation, lied when we arrived, and didn't have the duck available despite us making it extra clear during reservation. First they claimed we were late by an hour (we weren't, they either made a mistake with the reservation or flat out lied), they also didn't bother to call to check if we were coming. Then they changed their story to the oven being under maintenance. Basically they have repeatedly shown complete disregard for reservations. Unfortunately they seem to have enough of business to afford this behavior but I surely hope it will come back to bite them.
Food is decent but organization is simply disappointing. First time almost everything was out of stock and what we ordered came in incorrect order. To avoid this, the next time we tried booking in advance and listing the things we wanted to have (that were written down) but 2 hours before our time we are informed that they are out of stock for what we requested....
Read moreThis place is listed as one of the dinners to unwind after shopping at KLCC, and we decided to take the plunge.
The service is prompt and staff are friendly to assist with the menu.
We ordered the signature Peking Roast Duck and other side dishes.
The duck skin is crispy, but not totally crispy crunchy kind, perhaps a few more minutes in the grill may do the trick. The bean curd skin is lukewarm, which didn't help with the taste either. The overall combo is still pretty nice, but not up to par for a restaurant of this class and price.
The other dishes are still pretty good, though we both agree that as this outlet is 'non~pork' , this could explain the some what lack of body feeling among the dishes.
Oh final words, the dishes here gives us a DejaVu feeling from another popular restaurant chain too, perhaps it's the...
