Restoran Ali Food Corner — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Food 3-4 stars depending on what you order/like, but generally well prepared. Service is pretty friendly, there’s always English speaking staff around to help me (eaten here 5x in the past 5 weeks or so). Fan only, no air con.

The chicken tandoori is good, moist and flavorful. But - some of it tends to get burnt so you might ask them to take care not to burn it. Also, I ordered a portion to go a few days ago, came home and saw that the inside was still raw chicken! Luckily, I’m 3 minutes walk away and brought it back and they put it back in the oven for another 4 minutes or so and was nicely cooked. They apologized. If you order to go, check it before leaving, just in case :)

The garlic nan was good, though a bit dense. The roti canai was flaky without being oily, and teh tarik solid. They also have a stall that cooks Thai dishes - the Tom Yum soup is pretty close to what I’ve had in Bangkok.

I stay around the corner from here for a couple of months and came here at least a couple of time a week. If anything the staff gave me worse service and got ruder the more often I came. I could literally sit there in a quarter full restaurant while they walked around and talked to each other. I speak enough BM to order food so there weren't any communication problems. The food is nice and the chefs work hard, it's just the attitude of the waiters. They do ok because there aren't many halal options...

Last night we had best time at dinner that I think I've ever had! Our server Naim was adorable and full of personality plus. He was attentive, entertaining and knowledgeable. He is the huge asset to your restaurant and deserves much kudos.
